ICAD 2022 - # 30 Magical

Next card # 30 - Magical.

Week 5 Theme is: Working in series with a continuing theme or constraint.

Not quite what you expected for the prompt is it!
Well, I sooooo was going to do something with a unicorn (naturally!), but then I came across the Artist die cuts in Art by Marlene's XXL Book and knew my card was going to use them.

I used my last mop up card as my background and then placed the die cuts where I thought they would help create an artist desk.

Now if you are like me, these artists out there make these products look magical and oh so easy to use when they demonstrate how to use and create their art pieces.......fast forward to when they are in my hands, and my project is fast becoming mud, one big puddle or just, what was I thinking!
So this is my "Magical".

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 29 Neon

Next card # 29 - Neon.

Week 5 Theme is:  Working in series with a continuing theme or constraint.

Today sees the start of week 5! Wow, where has that time gone!
I used the "Neon" set of acrylic paints by Art by Marlene - just perfect for today's prompt.
I added one of Marlene's die cuts as well.
I grabbed my white gel pen and popped some shining stars and falling meteors for interest.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 28 Parachute

Next card # 28 - Parachute.

Week 4 Theme is:  Patterns, Murals, Motifs &/or Wallpaper.

Well this one ended up ok.
It started great with using an old credit card to drag down two strips of acrylic paint over the card.
The blue and pink looked great, then I added some yellow, and yuk, so tried some green which didn't help so I added more green and then decided to add some stenciling.
I used one of the little stencils from Art by Marlene's 2021 Advent Calendar. Instead of paint or ink, I grabbed a black gel pen and traced it where I wanted it and then used my black journal marker and coloured that in.
Next my die cuts and again with the gel pen, adding my parachute strings.
Then looking around, I found this great saying to add to her to finish her off.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Monday 27 June 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 27 Plaid

Next card # 27 - Plaid.

Week 4 Theme is:  Patterns, Murals, Motifs &/or Wallpaper.

Today I was pretty unadventurous again.
My image is from the Gentlemens Club Collage sheet by Gecko Galz, and my paper is from an old Kaisercraft pad called Attitude!. I have got a little white wash over it.
I also used a scrap of "plaid" and negative die cut laying on my desk. LOL, this is one way to clear up bits off my desk.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Sunday 26 June 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 26 Poem

Next card # 26 - Poem.

Week 4 Theme is:  Patterns, Murals, Motifs &/or Wallpaper.

A quick easy one today!
Grabbed another Alice page, with a poem, of sorts.
A couple of stamps and some distress ink pads and all done.
No  need to explain this one, it is super easy.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Saturday 25 June 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 25 Portmanteau

Next card # 25 - Portmanteau.

Week 4 Theme is:  Patterns, Murals, Motifs &/or Wallpaper.

When I looked up the meaning of "Portmanteau", it mentioned Lewis Carroll and Alice in Wonderland. Well, seeing as I used a page from the book yesterday, it was within reach. I looked it up and decided to use the page mentioned.
I adhered the page and then grabbed some acrylic paint and a piece of bubble wrap and had a little play, avoiding the two sentences.
Here's where I decided to let my intuitive side take over.
I grabbed some white acrylic paint and using my finger, I smudged over the bubble bits to dull them a touch.
Next was to use some washi stickers on the two opposite corners.
I got out one of my Bee Arty Stamps and ink pad and stamped off in a few places.
I thought it was missing something and found this rose sticker on my desk so I used that too.
Lastly, I grabbed my black gel pen and did a line around the two sentences to bring focus to them.

Wow, so happy with how it turned out. I love it!

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Friday 24 June 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 24 Print

Next card # 24 - Print.

Week 4 Theme is:  Patterns, Murals, Motifs &/or Wallpaper.

I enjoy doing Alice theme projects so figured with the theme of "Print", it would be good to grab a page out of an old Alice in Wonderland novel I bought a few weeks back from the Bookfest for $2.00.
So I ripped the page a bit to how I liked it and adhered. I then grabbed my Grunge Collection MASKSL55 stencil and used my Stormy Sky distress ink to go over it.
Such a great pattern, like 4 Rabbit holes just there! I sponged the edge of my card wit Black Soot distress ink.
I then added my die cut Alice by Stamperia.
Too much fun!

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Thursday 23 June 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 21 Solstice

Next card # 21 - Solstice.

Week 3 Theme is: Typography, found text, lyrics, poetry & lists.

So I did post this on my Facebook page and Instagram Tuesday night after I finished it, but just now after posting #22 & #23, realise I didn't blog it....too much going on and not enough time!
Anyway, I kept it pretty simple as it is our Winter Solstice in Australia so I just stuck with a Galaxy type theme.
I used my Black Soot and Stormy Sky Distress inks for my background. Then watered down some white acrylic paint and flicked on for my stars and planets. I then used my white gel pen and circled my moon in.
Simple, but I love it.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 22 Pineapple and # 23 Purple

Next card # 22 - Pineapple as well as # 23 - Purple

Week 4 Theme is:  Patterns, Murals, Motifs &/or Wallpaper.

I used a dictionary page that had "Pineapple" on it and tore it into 3 strips and used as my background.
I than added some green and yellow acrylic paint to  my modeling paste and used my Tim Holtz film stencil to highlight the "Pineapple". I used my black liner pen to go around the inside and outside of the film strip. Finally using my Yellow Tombow Marker and Green Koi Colouring Brush Pen to add more colour - pineapple colours of course.
Now I will be honest - I then started to look for a pineapple to add to it - yes I quite often start something with only half a plan! So I was looking and looking, and came across these files I had printed off by Luise Heinzl and hadn't got to use yet. Well I saw the Pineapple Owl and knew she just had to go on my card!
Perfect! I love her, I did only finish her off this morning so am posting with today's as well.

Now for today, the prompt is Purple so that was pretty easy to get a background with my Grape Fizz Perfect Pearls Mist! So while I was waiting on that to dry, I looked through my stash and found some wallpaper that was part of a junk journal bundle I bought last year. Bingo! how cute is this wallpaper, and has purple in it as well. A bit of fussy cutting and she looks great on my background.
My saying is another Art by Marlene Sticker Book quote. I did go around the words with a white gel pen which is hard to see.

Anyway, back on course so to speak.....got to love when work and life get in your crafting way!

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Dear Mother

Are you ready for a new month's Challenge over at Arty Divas Challenge Blog.

This month's theme as always is "Anything Goes", doesn't get any easier than that does it!

This month we are playing with Dear Mother and Vintage Postcards Set One by our Resident sponsor Lilli Rain Designs.

I made a card to start with.

And then because I was having so much fun, I created a 3 x 4 journal card and put in my Junk Journal.

The lovely background paper on my card is called Lemon and is from The Molly May Collection.
My Journal card is using the Rose Quartz paper from The Emily-Rose Collection.
It is great to be able to look through your files and find coordinating papers to use for your projects.

Now you have seen what I have done, it's your turn! I look forward to seeing your entry in our Challenges.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Monday 20 June 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 20 Ouija Board

Next card # 20 - Ouija Board.

Week 3 Theme is:  Typography, found text, lyrics, poetry & lists.

Going rogue again tonight as not much time.....so grabbed another of my mop up cards and then printed off the Odds & Bits Collage Sheet by Lorri Lennox.
I fussy cut some of the images I wanted on my card. Still plenty for another day!
After working out where I would put them, I then adhered them down and picked out a saying.
My sticker saying is again from Art by Marlene.

I would love to see what you create, if you are playing along, just tag me @8806angela  if you are on Instagram.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Spring Time Girls

When you sign up for the yearly Club Kit 2022 with Gecko Galz, you get the files for the previous months you have missed emailed to you as well.
You can check it out and/or sign up for it here.

Here's two projects I made with June's Kit Club Spring Time Girls.

First I made a Planner Pocket for my Happy Planner to go in on my March Divider page. We are going on a cruise in March next year, (fingers crossed) as it is the 3rd one we have booked since our last one got cancelled way way back in 2019! So far it's still going ahead....
I used a Happy Planner pocket from my stash and printed and cut some images from the Kit to use.
I sponged the edges of the images with Stormy Sky distress ink.....lol, yes I do own others!
The background papers are from Sea Side Splendor Craft Kit, which I can tell you if you go to the shop now, you can buy for $1.00 USD instead of $11.00 USD.....
The ephemera is from a Uniquely Creative die cut kit.

Now my second project is a quick easy card with a snarky appeal.
I could not help but see that 3 of them are looking (glaring) at the other one, who has a very uncomfortable look on her face.....lol, anyways, where are their towels!
I typed my words in a word document and printed off to use.
Sponged edges with Black Soot distress ink.

Don't forget the Craft Kit on Sale (Tattoo Summer is on sale too!)....Shhh.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 19 Selvedge

Next card # 19 - Selvedge.

Week 3 Thee is:  Typography, found text, lyrics, poetry & lists.

I used my mop up card from #17 and used some die cuts that were sitting on my desk.
Honeycomb is Tim Holtz, Light Bulb is Uniquely Creative, Coffee Cups are Jaded Blossom and the Love is La-La Land Crafts.

Lol, yes there is bound to be more floating around here as well. But I do love how this has turned out!

I would love to see what you create, if you are playing along, just tag me @8806angela  if you are on Instagram.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Christmas Challenge

For the Gecko Galz Christmas Challenge this month, perfect to make a card to add to your stash.

What a fabulous vintage image for a Christmas card!

I grabbed my Jaded Blossom Square dies out and then die cut my Scalloped Square in red, inner Stitched Square in vanilla natural and then another smaller Stitched Square with my image.

I added some white and red paper ribbon to accent it.
I don't think it needs anything else.

I am entering the following Challenges:

Happy Little Stampers - June Christmas

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Never More Designs Gothic Challenge

Have you checked out this month's Challenge Image over at Never More Designs Gothic Image Challenge?

If you have been following me, you will know I am doing the ICAD Challenge, and I have manged to follow the prompt all but the one day so far, and today's being bitmap meant I had my favourite Tim Holtz circle stencil out. When I had finished my card, I thought about my next project to do and looked at Never More Designs image and thought the dots would look great as a background for it......so out come the Junk Journal.

I used my big jar of Turquoise Acrylic Paint with the sponge I had used the black paint with. I would not normally do this, but, I wanted a darker patch as well and the start with the black was all I needed to get the look I wanted.

More fussy cutting and then a quote and all done.
The quote is from one of my Art by Marlene Sticky Quotes books.

I think I have told you all before that I love working in my junk journal.....I have plenty of bought ones but still love this one. My first one I made, lol, and was afraid to use! Now I am filling it up fast!

Hope to see what you do with the image.

I am entering the following Challenges:

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 18 Bitmap or Halftone

Next card # 18 - Bitmap or Halftone.

Week 3 Theme is:  Typography, found text, lyrics, poetry & lists.

I grabbed one of the mop up cards I have been creating as we go along and a Tim Holtz stencil for the dots to create my bitmap hearts.

Firstly though I die cut a 4 x 6 cardstock with my 2 hearts how I wanted them so I could use that on top of my stencil to get the shape right. It worked a treat!

I found the perfect quote to add from one of my Art by Marlene Sticky Quotes books.

I would love to see what you create, if you are playing along, just tag me @8806angela  if you are on Instagram.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Steampunk Monthly Challenge / ICAD 2022 # 17 Mango

I decided that for today's ICAD I would use my challenge image from the Gecko Galz Steampunk Monthly Challenge, as "Mango" is not inspiring me at all, and I do want to keep up with my cards.

So it made sense to freestyle today and get my challenge done at the same time!

My background card I actually made two of, so like the last couple of days, I have another one for another day. To make the background, the four inks I used was Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Inks, with Broken China and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxides. And water of course.

I took some time and fussy cut my image, and yes, it's something I do enjoy doing.
I found this saying on my 6 x12 Stamperia paper set -  Collectables Voyages Fantastiques.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Forget Me Not ATC's

Did you see this month's ATC Challenge over on the Gecko Galz Facebook page?
Still time to play along.

Forget Me Not is this months set.

I used 3 of the backgrounds and fussy cut some of the images to start with.
I played around with images and backgrounds for a while before I settled on the ones I went with.
This month I decided I wanted to have little clusters on them for a change.
So my clusters are a combination of washi stickers and Tim Holtz Ideology Snippets Ephemera pack.
I sponged the edges of my ATC's with Vintage Photo distress ink as well.

ICAD 2022 - # 16 Jukebox

Next card # 16 - Jukebox.

Week 3 Theme is:  Typography, found text, lyrics, poetry & lists.

Today I was a bit stumped on the Jukebox theme, but then I looked through my vintage music sheets and found this one for the Man of La Mancha. I figure this far back, the list would be like this.....anyway, works for me.
I then got my shimmer sprays out and had some fun giving it a shimmery coat.
I even got a second card done with the mop up, so now I have 2 cards with great backgrounds ready to go.

I would love to see what you create, if you are playing along, just tag me @8806angela  if you are on Instagram.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 15 Mix & Match

Next card # 15 - Mix & Match

Week 3 Theme is:  Typography, found text, lyrics, poetry & lists.

Goodness, I had soooooo much fun with this!

For my Mix -
I grabbed my little Asian Book - I do not know which dialect it is, but I found it at a Bookfest and loved it. I torn up one of the pages and adhered them collage style to my card.
Next was my Distress paints - Festive Berries, Rusty Hinge, Twisted Citron and Shaded Lilac. Dabbed it on my mat and sprayed with some water and then smooshed my card around on it. I got another card done by mopping up what was left, which I will use another day.

Now my Match -
I grabbed out an old Shakespeare Novel (same Bookfest) and ripped out a page to use - I finally decided to use it! I stamped with Archival ink using a few Art by Marlene stamps from her Dramatic Dots set. Then fussy cut and adhered across the centre of the card.

I love how it turned out.
I mix and matched my Asian and English book pages with my Paint and Ink.

I would love to see what you create, if you are playing along, just tag me @8806angela  if you are on Instagram.

Butterflies ATC's

This month's Sparkles Monthly Challenges #153 is Things with Wings.

This month I made a set of Butterflies ATC's.

I was cleaning up my desk - well, sort of, I was looking for something and came across a A4 Collage page I had created for a class a few months ago.....and I thought it would make for great ATC's and/or tags.

So I have already shown you the tag I made using this page, and now here are a set of ATC's as well using a different theme, but just as nice.

My collage page was made using a piece of 160 GSM Digital Paper.
Collaged with strips from music sheets, book pages and patterned paper scraps from stash.
Black ink with stamps, and white gesso with stencils. Then cutting up to sizes for my projects,.

Now on each one I have used ephemera from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Curator Ephemera Pack Snippets for my cluster and Butterflies from his Snippets Ephemera Pack Ensemble.
I then added extra stamping using Vintage Photo distress ink with a stamp from Unity Stamp's L.O.L JoJa Kit (2015) as well as one from Dina Wakley's Scribbly Circles. I then sponged around edges with same ink.
Lastly I added a sentiment from Uniquely Creative Cut-a-parts in my stash and used a black pen to go around the edges of them.

I look forward to seeing your take on the theme.

I am entering in the following Challenges:

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 14 Mood Board

Next card # 14 - Mood Board.

Week 2 Theme is: Collage, found paper & Acrylics.

Last day of  week 2, collage was the choice again today.

So out with the box of scraps again and adhered some strips down on my card.
I then thought I'd use the Red Queen and Eat me die cuts from  Stamperia in my stash as that's about where my head is at the moment. I love the final card and it's all about having fun, not being perfect!

I would love to see what you create, if you are playing along, just tag me @8806angela  if you are on Instagram.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Monday 13 June 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 13 Toy

Next card # 13 - Toy.

Week 2 Theme is: Collage, found paper & Acrylics.

Nothing says Toy more than Christmas, am I right!

Still being in week 2, collage was the best choice today.

I have used 3 ephemera images from Gecko Galz Christmas Scraps Digital Collage Sheet.
Sponged the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink and then adhered them on my card.
It really doesn't get any simpler than that!

I would love to see what you create, if you are playing along, just tag me @8806angela  if you are on Instagram.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Sunday 12 June 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 12 Blueprint or Cyanotype

Next card # 12 - Blueprint or Cyanotype.

Week 2 Theme is: Collage, found paper & Acrylics.

I dusted off my small Geli Plate and decided that Blueprint was a great prompt to do an image transfer on the Geli Plate.

I grabbed out a Visit East Asia mini magazine I had picked up a few years ago at a Travel Expo and it had the Seoul Subway Map spread over two pages, so I gave it a go.

This is the first one I did, the second one didn't work out so I just added some more stencils and acrylic paint and it's ready for an upcoming prompt - I am pretty sure that the next 49 at least one will be suitable!

Anyway, a nice quick and easy (so to speak) icad for today.

I would love to see what you create, if you are playing along, just tag me @8806angela  if you are on Instagram.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Mermaid Besties

This month the Gecko Galz Monthly Stamp Challenge is all about the mermaids!

I decided to do a Journal page in my art journal.

I coloured th middle girl with pencils and the outer 2 with distress inks.
I didn't really have a plan when I started colouring to be honest.
I started with my fun pony-tailed girl in summery colours as it's winter here in Australia and we are having some very chilly days (for us) at the moment. I then thought I would like to try a gothic one....I am still learning  to colour with my distress inks. I then decided for the third one I would use my colouring pencils. I have gotten very rusty with them so again, I think I need to colour more!

After fussy cutting, I then thought I would do a journal page in my art journal.
So I grabbed a few stencils and went with this one above as I felt it gave a coral sort of water flowing vibe to it.....and used my Art by Marlene Acrylic paints (Azure, Mermaid and Heaven).

After sticking my besties on the page, I grabbed my sticker books out and decided this one by Art by Marlene suited my page best.
I love it - a great mixed media page.

Hope you like him and have time to join in with us.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Saturday 11 June 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 10 Rubik's Cube and # 11 Rainbows

Next card # 10 - Rubik's Cube, as well as # 11 -Rainbows.

Week 2 Theme is: Collage, found paper & Acrylics.

Busy couple of days for me with work and other life commitments that I had to do both yesterday and today's icad's after work to catch up.
Well, I didn't have to, but I wanted to so I could stay up to date.

Anyway, I grabbed my box of scraps out and found some glossy paper that I had used alcolhol inks on, as well as a mop up napkin.

So for my Rubik's Cube, I die cut the glossy card and got my small cubes to lay down on my collage of music, book and patterned papers with a doily. I used white and Umber acrylic paints mixed with Flow medium to get more of a glaze to go over my collage.
The saying is a sticker from Art by Marlene's Sticker Sheets book.

My Rainbows icad was quicker as I adhered my napkin for the base, a rainbow die cut I cut a few months ago from a scrap page that I had played with my gelato's on.
The saying is from Art by Marlene's Bold & Bright Sticky Quotes book.

I would love to see what you create, if you are playing along, just tag me @8806angela  if you are on Instagram.

ICAD 2022 - # 9 Found

Next card # 9 - Found.

Week 2 Theme is: Collage, found paper & Acrylics.

Amazing what you find floating around on your desk isn't it!
So I "Found" the other half of the black silhouette die cut I used on my icad #7, so now it's mum's turn!
Teamed up with another die cut I cut from patterned paper a few months ago for a project and only used the one of.
I am in the middle of another project and have a left over piece of digital paper by Lilli Rain Designs called Rose Quartz from The Emily Rose Collection. Perfect to use for my collage background.
My 3 new, unused Art by Marlene Acrylic paints - Wine, Desert and Mudfight, along with a Dusty Attic Stencil - DA1473.
Looking for my script stamp, I found my Tim Holtz set so was able to use "Found" from it!
I love it! It is different to what I had planned when I started, but that is how it goes some days isn't it.

I would love to see what you create, if you are playing along, just tag me @8806angela  if you are on Instagram.

Arty Divas Mid-Challenge Reminder

There is still time to enter this months Challenge over at Arty Divas Challenge Blog.
This month's theme is as always "Anything Goes!", doesn't get any easier than that does it!

I was cleaning up my desk - well, sort of, I was looking for something and came across a Collage page I had created for a class a few months ago and I thought it would make for great ATC's and/or tags.

So for today, I made a tag and used part of the page for it by cutting a piece 18 cm x 7 1/2 cm and then trim the top corners off to create my tag with a hole punch for the ribbon.

My collage page was made using a piece of 160 GSM Digital Paper.
Collaged with strips from music sheets, book pages and patterned paper scraps from stash.
Black ink with stamps, and white gesso with stencils. Then cutting up to sizes for my projects,.

I have used ephemera from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Snippets Ephemera Pack Ensemble to create my cluster.
I then added extra stamping using Vintage Photo distress ink with a stamp from Unity Stamp's L.O.L JoJa Kit (2015) as well as one from Dina Wakley's Scribbly Circles.
Then I sponged around edges with the same ink and added some ribbon from my stash.
Lastly I added a couple of sentiments from Uniquely Creative Cut-a-parts in my stash and used a black pen to go around the edges of them.

I love how it turned out - Shabby Chic meets Vinatge!

I look forward to seeing your entry in our Challenges.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Tuesday 7 June 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 7 Root

Next card # 7 - Root.

Week 1 Theme is: Drawing, Mark-making, pen, pencil, marker, ink.

Wow, the end of week 1 already!
So today's card has ended up as a collage!
I looked through my Daphne's Diary books (Number 4-2021, pg 36) and found this great page for The Ginseng Root and thought it was perfect for today's theme - Root.
So after I adhered it down, I then ripped up a few corner bits so it wasn't so perfect looking.
Grabbing a Tim Holtz stencil and Vintage Photo distress ink, I grounded the roots.
Next was to add some stamping with Tim Holtz Field Notes stamps.
I added a black silhouette die cut of a young boy (cut mother off, lol) so the roots were coming from his feet.
I then added some washi tape and sponged around the edges to finish it off.

I absolutely love how it turned out - I was going to add a saying or some words, but I don't want to spoil it so am leaving it as is.

I would love to see what you create, if you are playing along, just tag me @8806angela  if you are on Instagram.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Monday 6 June 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 6 Daydream

Next card # 6 - Daydream.

Week 1 Theme is: Drawing, Mark-making, pen, pencil, marker, ink.

I am a bit late with todays (tonight here!) as I was procrastinating on what to create!
So in the end I just daydreamed as I grabbed some supplies out and thought about doing something a bit different to my normal style for a change. Perfect for daydreaming really because I would love to master mixed media!

Anyway, I started with a piece of patterned paper and did some stenciling with Black Soot distress ink.
Then I sprayed some yellow Shimmer spray in spots and let it run a bit. I decided to use another stencil with some Finnabair Texture Fantasy paste in Rose to add some texture to my card.
To finish off I grabbed out my  Tim Holtz keepsake Ephemera pack and layered a few in the bottom right corner to draw the eye.

I am entering the following Challenges:

Dog Days of Summer

Have you entered this month's Customer Challenge over at Gecko Galz yet?
The theme is Dog Days of Summer

This month I made a Dex card using an image from  Ladies in Cream. So many great images there you could use this month.
Having a greyhound myself, I of course had to use an image with one in.
I die cut a dex card with my Heidi Swapp die using a patterned paper from my stash - no name or identifying marks on it.
I also used some the postcard and words from A Place in Time, Graphics 45 8x8 Paper Pad (2012 edition!), wow I have had that a while!

I hope I have inspired you, and now it's your turn to show me what you can do this month - you have until the 29th to get your entry blogged and onto the blog page. Why not try an image from the Newsletter freebies as well.
It really is worth the try to have some fun and maybe win $25 to spend in the store along your way!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Sunday 5 June 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 5 Flamingo &/or Pink

Next card # 5 - Flamingo &/or Pink.

Week 1 Theme is: Drawing, Mark-making, pen, pencil, marker, ink.

I decided to use my 2nd background card from Day 2 for my base today.
All I needed to do was to add my Flamingo and saying and it was done.
A nice quick and easy one for a Sunday!
The flamingo is from The Golden Oldie XXL Collectors Book by Art by Marlene, and the saying from a small block from Art by Marlene's 2021 Advent Calendar.

ICAD 2022 - # 4 Key

Next card # 4 - Key.

Week 1 Theme is: Drawing, Mark-making, pen, pencil, marker, ink.

I used a clean up card for my base today.
I added a black die cut Key, as well as a saying from the Art by Marlene's The Goldie Oldie XXL Collectors Book.
My girl is an image from Lorri Lennox that I coloured up with pencils.

As it says, do what you love....it's great to just play and not worry about the outcome so much.

Royal Cards

This month I went with a Royal theme for my project to inspire you using the Royals ATC Sheet by Gecko Galz.

Wow, you can have so much fun with these!

I decided on the same design of card, but altering the style by different toning of ATC and ATC Coins.

Both of them I added gold flakes around the edges to give it a more regal feel....I have found a new love of gold flakes!

My first card I went with a Game of Thrones feel - Aria being my favourite character, a girl has no name and that faceless armor meant my Jaded Blossom Happy Name Day stamp set come out for a play! I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of vellum and carefully adhered to my atc. (I love this card ... just sayin') I did clip the corner of the atc to match the opposite curve on the atc coin.

My second card I added a die cut Thanks from my die by Taylored Expressions.

I hope you like them and are inspired to join in on one of our many challenges this month.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 3 Maze or Labyrinth

Next card #3 - Maze or Labyrinth.

Week 1 Theme is: Drawing, Mark-making, pen, pencil, marker, ink.

I admit I had to look up what a Labyrinth was...and then how to draw one!
So after I glued some newspaper scraps onto my card, I then grabbed the green acrylic ink and brayered it on. I was thinking it was a bit bright, so I added some yellow and was happy with the result.
I then grabbed my pencil and drew my labyrinth, before going over it with a blue sharpie.
I found a great quote to go with it as well.

" The point of a maze is to find it's centre. The point of a labyrinth is to find your centre."

My writing is a scrawl which is way I don't write too often on my works if I can avoid it.
Lol, plus you can see I didn't have a plan when I got going.....that's how I roll!

ICAD 2022 - # 2 Peony

Next card #2 - Peony.

Week 1 Theme is: Drawing, Mark-making, pen, pencil, marker, ink.

Today I grabbed my Bold & Bright stencil by Art by Marlene and used a yellow pink acrylic paint in my stash to create my background. Now at first I did not like it as it was too dark, but I loved the effect on my card. So I grabbed another card and using the excess paint on my stencil, I placed it on the card and moved a wet wipe over it. The perfect light water washed background for my project today with a ready made one for another time, I mean we have 59 more card so I am sure it will get a go on one of those days!

My image is a digital print from Gecko Galz and it's off the Free Newsletter PDF called September Glory, from 2021.
All it needed then was a bit of doodling around the edges with my black uni pen to give it a frame.

I love how the backgrounds turned out and my overall card.
