Coral Shimmer

Full Deck Challenge 2 - Card 7.
The prompts are out and they are: Book page, coral colour, zig zag and tree.

I grabbed a cleanup page from one of my books that had some orange and mauve on to add a strip to my card.
Next I got out my Kaiser Mists (iridescent spray inks) - orange and pink and gave the card a few sprays and then splashes to get my coral colour happening. It has the most gorgeous shimmer to it now!
For my tree, I used one of the stamps from my IndigoBlu Mixed Media Special 5 set with black archival ink.
My zig zag is using my orange distress ink with one of the stamps from Unity Stamps LOL JoJa Kit (Jan 2015) stamped in some random spots.

I love how it ended up, and shimmery to boot!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Moonlight Magic ATC's

Did you see this month's ATC Challenge over on the Gecko Galz Facebook page?

Moonlight Magic is our theme and here's the set of 3 I created.

I used 3 of the backgrounds and fussy cut some of the images and had a play.
Once I decided on the images to use and when to place them, I then googled some quotes and found 3 that went with my layouts.
My 3 quotes are:
Selenophile:  (n) a person who loves the moon.
To the moon and back, remember?
Be someone’s moon on a dark hopeless night.

ATC's are a fun way to just play around with images and have fun.
You can of course add other embellishments as well, I tend to use mostly just the backings and images supplied and then add some quotes to mine.

Sweet Little Birds

Are you ready for a new month's Challenge over at Arty Divas Challenge Blog.
Yes, I am pleased to say I have joined the Arty Divas team - LOL, an appropriate title for me I would have thought!
This month's theme is as always "Anything Goes", doesn't get any easier than that does it!

This month we are playing with Lilli Rain Designs Sweet Little Birds as well as French Ephemera Set 1.

I started by resizing and printing off the images I wanted to use on 160 GSM Digital Paper - my go to now for prints.

After trimming and fussy cutting, I sponged the edges of all the images and card bases with Vintage Photo distress ink.

For my Sweet Little Birds image, I die cut a stem and flowers from my Tim Holtz Small Tattered Florals thinlits and again, sponged the edges. I then gave the flowers some shape and adhered the sizes and then set aside.
Using a piece of Asian printed book paper, I tore the sides to a size I wanted and sponged those edges as well.

Now it was just a matter of placing it all on my card base and moving it all around until I got it to the places I was happy with. Then adhering it all down in place.

The same process for my second card using the French Ephemera images as well.

Now you have seen what I have done, it's your turn! I look forward to seeing your entry in our Challenges.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Smell the Flowers

Over at Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook Page, there is a Challenge to use one or all of the Calendar month pages from this years calendar, and create your own journal page.

I have used March, which is Tammy's and I thought her girl was just right to have a pop of colour behind her.

When I started, I had intended to have more white and just a burst of colour, but you know how it is......and in the end I think it is a bit busy, but I still like it.

I used a heap of Art by Marlene products - Moody acrylic paint set, Dramatic Dots Essential stamp set, along with a stamp and 2 stencils from the 2021 Advent Calendar.
I also used a stamp from Unity Stamps JoJa Kit (Jan 2015) and the Vintage Text Mark Making stamp from Uniquely Creative.
Then some black gesso, black Posca paint pen and Cerulean Blue and Iris Koi Coloring Brush Pens.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Rockabilly Altered Card

Full Deck Challenge 2 - Card 6.
The prompts are out and they are: Sheet Music, Black Mark Making, Flower/s and Turquoise.

Was easy to grab some music sheet scraps from my stash to pop on the card.
I then used my Turquoise Neo II Crayon and coloured some of the card and moved it around with some water. I then grabbed my Black Neo II crayon and made my black marks.
Lastly, I adhered my Rockabilly girls with her flowers. My image in by Ephemoire and is aprt of her Rockabilly collection.

I am pretty happy with how she turned out.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Let's Party

Here is my project for this month's Sparkles Monthly Challenges.

This month our Challenge #152 has the theme: Floral Frenzy.

This month I made a card for the challenge.

I used an orange slimline card I received in a swap as my base.
I got out my Art by Marlene Smurf Acrylic paint and Bold & Bright stencil and used that to create a background on top of the glossy type card base.
Next was cutting out my Animal Paper Dolls elements (again from a swap) and assembling.
I used a foam dot on her head so it popped up off the card base. Her skirt overlapped the sides of the card so I folded them over and stuck down.
Lastly I grabbed my sticker book by Art by Marlene and adhered that.
Super cool looking mixed media card, I really like it!

I look forward to your take on the theme.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Don't be afraid of silly ideas

Full Deck Challenge 2 - Card 5.
The prompts are out and they are: Happy Scraps, Lace, Buttons, Sentiment.

It is so much fun to go through your scraps and have a play.

I used 4 different scraps from my box - the first one is rice paper that I played with alcohol inks, second is a torn bit of music sheet, third is alcohol inks again but on glossy photo paper and the fourth is a piece of patterned paper.
Bit of lace trim up and button from my stash.
My sentiment is from Art by Marlene Bold & Bright Sticky Quotes book.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

La Vie Paris

Have you entered this month's Customer Challenge over at Gecko Galz yet?
The theme is La Vie Paris.

I made a set of 2 cards for the challenge.

My backgrounds are a couple of the pages from Victorian Elegance Junk Journal Kit.
My main images are from Paris Dreams.

My first card I went shabby chic and distress the image edges to match the background, Used Vintage Photo distress ink around the edges, including the card base.

My second card I rounded the corners of the background and the image. Used Black Soot distress ink around the edges, and again around the card base.

I love how both cards turned out.
So now it's your turn to show me what you can do this month - you have until the 29th to get your entry blogged and onto the blog page. Why not try an image from the Newsletter freebies as well.
It really is worth the try to have some fun and maybe win $25 to spend in the store along your way!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Let the Sunshine in

Another month gone and Easter is behind us!
How fast is the year going, again!

So here I am with my monthly projects for Gecko Galz.
I decided to make a tag as well as a journal page.

When I saw this image I knew I had to create with it! It is just beautiful!
You will find it on the What's the Buzz Digital Collage Set. If you check out the blog, you will see the fabulous projects a few of the DT did using this same set.
I used my tag die by Uniquely Creative to die cut my tag. I then used a Tim Holtz Die to give me the honeycomb cut away on my tag. Using some pattern paper that a good friend gave me in a recent Easter swap, I die cut another tag and adhered to the back to have the yellow pattern come through.
Fussy cut my wonderful image and popped on with foam dots to lift it up.
My sentiment is from Art by Marlene's Signature Collection Sticker Book, and tulle from my stash to finish.

The journal is an old diary (ok, last years work diary, lol) that I recycled the cover here in March. At the moment I am all about using what I have and not buying any craft items until June......6 weeks in and I am still at $0 spend! Whoop Whoop, win for me and my vast stash!
So, my image is from Gecko Galz Little Birds Collage Set which I fussy cut and set aside.
I grabbed out my Dusty Attic stencil (DA2103) and using Art by Marlene Acrylic paints Peony and Tuscan I created my background.
I then adhered a heart shaped doily I received in a swap and added some DMC thread in similar colour (lol, that stash that keeps giving!) and my image on top.
Next I grabbed some pink planner/journal stickers in my vast stash and found two that worked well together for this page.
Lastly I doodled with a black gel pen in opposite corners with highlights from white gel pen.

I hope you like them and are inspired to dig through your stash and join one of our many challenges!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Halloween Cuties

This is my first month of being on the Design Team over at This is Halloween.

This is Halloween is a Halloween and/or Gothic themed Monthly Challenge.
So both themes are accepted all year round when stated!

I decided to make a bookmark with this cute photo of twins dressed as witches from Halloween Cuties by Lilli Rain Designs. The background paper is also from the same file.

I used my Jaded Blossom Halloween Luggage Tag stamp with versamark ink and heat embossed with Black embossing powder. Hard to tell, but it has given the words a nice dark shine and shimmer.

I used the little tag hole die from Uniquely Creative and added some black tulle and black glitter ribbon from my stash to finish it off.

Hope you get a chance to play along with us - enter here.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!
