Just Journal January 2023

What are your plans for 2023?
Mine is to spend less on craft supplies and to use what I have!

So with that in mind, I decided to give My Porch Prints "Just Journal - January Journal Prompts a go.

Here is my cover using MPP's freebie with the prompt list.
I added some stickers and a rub-on from my My Creative Studio subscription boxes.
I have made a start and already using my stash supplies!

I hope you all have a safe New Years Eve and see the New Year in safely!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 11

Time for my next project to inspire you, which is using one of the pirate girls from the New Release Pack for Decembers Challenge Yo Ho Ho by Michelle Grant. My sentiment is from Tanya Froud's Ozzie Ozzie pack.

If you have been following me, you would have already seen  me making a lot of Christmas Tags.....so I thought why not make another one, right!

The mixed media tag on the left I have used a mixture of Distress inks and Distress paints. I then used a new die my crafty buddy gave me in my Christmas bundle. Great die cut, I will be using this a bit more for sure.
I coloured my festive pirate girl with pencils and around my sentiment with Inktense pencils.
I stamped my branch on the tag and then used Art by Marlene Neon paints Wow and Glow for the two baubles. Added some ribbon on top as the final touch.

My journal card I used part of one of the background sheets, distressed the edges and then added a piece of vellum on top and stitched around the edge.
My Joy bauble is a die cut I had left over from the 12 Days of Christmas Tags and it really fits this very well.

Don't forget to share with us any of your projects over on the Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook group, we'd love to see them.

I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable Christmas no matter where you are or what you are up to.
I look forward to sharing some more inspirational projects with you next year.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

24 Tags of Christmas

Have you been enjoying the Gecko Galz 24 Tags of Christmas?
So here is my 3rd and final tag for this year.

My lovely girl is from the Very Vintage Christmas Set and my ticket image is from the Altered Christmas Sheet.

I fussy cut both the ticket and my girl and adhered onto my tag.
My tag I made from a grid book page that I had previously coffee stained and then used for mopping up some spray ink when doing my Junk Journal Challenge last month.
I added a strip of lace to the bottom and used my sewing machine to go around the border for a more vintage look.
I then added some Rhinestone Bling in the centre of the flowers along the lace.
My saying is another one of my Gold Foil Planner Stickers.
Then a bit of seam binding in the punched hole and I have another super sweet tag.

BUT WAIT! There's more.
I used my tag and made a table centre piece to show my residents at our Nursing Home how we were going to make some table pieces for our Christmas Decorations this year.

Very easy and stunning to show off.
Our base is a paper plate painted with black Acrylic paint.
Our centre piece is a recycled can, again painted black. This one is a round biscuit tin upside down.
A gold foil doily on top with a bauble and wire baubles.
Some white tulle around the base with some gold ribbon and then a red burlap ribbon bow with some more wire baubles.
My beautiful tag front and centre!

Yes, they loved it! And they had a tonne of fun making their own to be admired by all.

So that is me for this year, I hope I have insipred you a little throughout the year with my projects for Gecko Galz. I will be back next year for a second term and look forward to showing you more fun projects.

Have a happy and safe Christmas.
Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Here is Day 12 of 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly.

Oh no, it the very last tag of 12 Days of Christmas Tags!
Again, a few techniques to really keep us interested and intrigued!

I have say that I have learnt so much more that I thought I would.
I have enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.
If you get the chance to do one of these, jump right in, you will not regret it.
I certainly will be watching next year to see if we get to play again.

I hope you have enjoyed following along with me and here's the 12 Tags on their ring.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Here is Day 11 of 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly.

Oh wow - I learnt another amazing technique with this tag!
How much fun is this tag, seriously, so much going on and to look at!
Sad that only one more tag to go.
See you tomorrow with my last of the 12 tags.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Here is Day 10 of 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly.

Not going to lie, this one was a challenge!
I used the frame for an early tag that I didn't have the die cut for, so naturally, I probably used the bit I needed for this one. But, I made do with what I had left of it and think I did an okay job!

See you tomorrow with Day 11 - only 2 more tags left! Can you believe it, almost done.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Here is Day 9 of 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly.

Out with the embossing powders again and wow, what a difference that makes.
You always forget that you can emboss your die cuts to change them - well I do anyway.
A bit more stitching and glossy accents again as well.

See you tomorrow with Day 10 and another fun tag, I am really enjoying this process!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Here is Day 8 of 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly.

Day 8 is so sweet with the two birds!
What you can't tell from the photo is how shimmery those die cut branches are. I sprayed them with Perfect Pearls.

See you tomorrow with Day 9 and another fun tag!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Here is Day 7 of 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly.

LOL, it wasn't until I went to glue this stack on my tag that I realised I stuck my rice paper trees on sideways....which still works as Believe is sideways - guess my brain was thinking that way!
In my defense starting my new job has my headspace a bit scrambled at the moment.
I used my Wink of Stella on the Believe die cut instead of embossing powder to get a glittery shine, that is way to small and fiddly for my fat fingers!

Ok, I look forward to Day 8's tag!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

24 Tags of Christmas

Have you been enjoying the Gecko Galz 24 Tags of Christmas?
Ok, this is my 2nd Tag I made.

Oh my, how sweet!
These gorgeously sweet girls are from the Very Vintage Christmas Set.

I fussy cut them out and adhered onto my tag.
My tag I made from a book page that I had used for mopping up some distress oxide inks when doing my Junk Journal Challenge last month.
I added a strip of lace to the bottom and used my sewing machine to go around the border for a more vintage look. (LOL, I tell myself that).
My saying is one of my Gold Foil Planner Stickers.
Then a bit of seam binding in the punched hole and a super sweet tag.

I hope you like my tag, and I have one more to show you on the 19th!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Here is Day 6 of 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly.

Here we are again with yet another completely different tag to create.
You can't tell, but I spritzed my die cut branches with a white Shimmer Spray from my stash, as well as a pale blue, which did not want to work so well.
Boy were my fingers very sticky when I finished this tag.
Instead of using some of the beads from Tag 1 (in the bauble shaker), I decided to use some red rhinestones instead. LOL, the thought of putting every more glue on my fingers and trying not to rip the branches with them was a bit too much, so rhinestones it was.
It is different and was fun to create.

So now I have officially made the 1/2 way mark - 6 out of 12 tags completed!
And this is what that stack looks like.

See you tomorrow with Day 5!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Saturday 10 December 2022

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Here is Day 5 of 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly.

I am amazed with the different style and techniques these tags are taking.
I am having a whole lot of fun learning new ways to do things and use things with/for.
We got this gorgeous Resin Deer head to play with today.
My tag is slightly different to the instructions as I could no find the filmstrip die cut I was meant to use. I did find a Gold Glitter frame die cut so decided to use a part of it and go with that.
I like it, and if I didn't tell you, you would not know!

See you tomorrow with Day 6!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Christmas Dreams for Ukraine

Have you entered this month's Customer Challenge over at Gecko Galz yet?
The theme is Christmas Dreams.

With that in mind, I decided to make a card for those in Ukraine who are still having to endure so much that they should not have had to still be doing. My heart and prayers go out to them all.

I used one of the Sunflower images from Sunflowers for Ukraine along the Bingo card and one of the tickets from Altered Christmas Sheet.
I sponged around all the edges before I adhered everything,
I really like how it turned out and truly hope that 2023 sees an end to the pain and destruction they are having to suffer.

Now it's your turn to show me what you can do this month - you have until the 29th to get your entry blogged and onto the blog page. Why not try an image from the Newsletter freebies as well.
It really is worth the try to have some fun and maybe win $25 to spend in the store along your way!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Here is Day 4 of 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly.

Out with the sewing machine again.
This is a wonderful tag with the added pocket.
A new way to use that pom pom (bobble) ribbon!
I am learning so many new techniques to use my stash. So glad I signed up for this Kit!
Can't believe we are a third of the way through already.

See you tomorrow with Day 5!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Thursday 8 December 2022

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Here is Day 3 of 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly.

A different tag completely today.
I wasn't sure if we were to cut the smaller kraft tag down to fit so I just left to overhang a bit. It still looks okay to me.
Isn't that the good thing about craft, when in doubt, do what makes you happy!

See you tomorrow with Day 4!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 10

Time for my next project to inspire you, which is a Mash Up of  Michelle Grant's September Challenge image Affinity, Ruby Yates Ruby's Doodlings Mini, Michelle Grant's Pattern #1 and Karen Yates Little Word Bits #3.

I used the colours from Michelle's image that I printed on tissue paper.
I collaged some old music paper and coffee stained grid paper with one of the Pattern 1 images printed on tissue paper.
A light layer of white gesso on some areas and then I put some paint on most areas.
A few stencils with more of the same paints and black splashes.
I coloured Ruby's girls and heads with pencils and stuck down.
Karen's sentiment was just right for this page.
I have Ruby's heads coming out as thought clouds over to the girl as though Affinity is thinking this.
A doodled a border around the pages and all done.

Well, I hope I have inspired you to look at your packs a little bit differently.

Don't forget to share with us any of your projects over on the Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook group, we'd love to see them.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Here is Day 2 of 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly.

So today we have layers and layers - 10 in all!
A bit of fussy cutting and modeling paste with our own stencils.
I have to tell you that my "2" has three coats of Glossy Accents on it as I kept finding it on my desk with my finger or the side of my hand, until I decided to move it completely off my desk!
I need to get a few border type stencils - maybe one or two might be under the tree for me?

I start a new job tomorrow so will make a start on Day 3 tag as it will be a big day for me and I want to keep with my tag a day to show you all.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Goodness I am in love with these tags!

When I saw the 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly, a craft store here in Australia I just had to buy them and give them a go. I am so glad I did.

Wowsers!
Day 1 and a sparkly shaker Tag! Doesn't get much better than that does it?
You get 99% of things you need to create each of the 12 cards.
Just follow the instruction booklet and have fun!

So I got this wonderful package today and made my start.
If you are into Mixed Media or what to start, this is the perfect way to start.
I will endeavor to keep on track and show you me new tag each day !!!!!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Christmas Traditions

It's been a while since I joined in the Facebook Challenges over at Gecko Galz.

I thought I would create a card and use the Card Sketch for inspiration.

I'm pretty please with how she turned out.....It's been a while since I made a card with so many layers!

Looking at the Challenge list, I should be able to enter her in 3 of them, so that's a bonus!
My Background strip is from Gecko Galz Christmas Traditions ATC set and my girl from the new Christmas Fantasy Tin Topper.

Why not give it a go and join us too?

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

24 Tags of Christmas

It's that time of the year for us at Gecko Galz, yes 24 Tags of Christmas.
Check out the blog each day to see what the wonderful team have created for you.

Today is my 1st day (I am doing 3 Tags this year) and I hope you like it.

I have used my old Stampin Up Stocking Bigz Die and die cut my stocking using Red and Kraft cardstock.
My Stocking cuff I die cut from the Christmas in Nature ATC Set, and my image and words are from the Christmas Card Toppers.
I added some Rhinestone Bling for a bit of shine!

I hope I brought a smile to your face during this rushed time.
I have another 2 tags to share with you, one on the 11th and another on the 19th that you will not want to miss.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Crumbling Walls

This month I created an Inspirational Photo Frame for my Gecko Galz project to inspire you using one of the papers from the Crumbling Walls Digital Paper Pack.

I do apologise, it's not the best picture, but it is the best I could do.
I eventually had to take the glass from the front as I just could not get a photo to show it properly and fully.

I actually used my sewing machine and got a stitching around the edges, however, only the top and bottom can be seen.
I then used one of my Gold Foil Planner Stickers and put it in the middle.
I really think this is all that it needs.
The saying is "Do what they think you can't do".

I hope you like it and are inspired to come over and join in on one of our many challenges this month.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Love makes the World go round ...

It's Day 3 of whatever Advent Calendar you are participating in!

I am enjoying Art by Marlene's again this year. I loved last year so just had to make sure I got this years as well.
Happy to say that I am loving this years as much as I did last year. It's so much fun to get new craft goodies each day.

So Day 1, we got a Desk Calendar to decorate.
Day 2, we got a new acrylic stamp block - it is bigger than last years. It doesn't have the notches around it, but it still a nice size.
Now today, Day 3, is the most gorgeous mini group of gals!

I saw that Marlene posted a mini flash challenge so quickly got my act together to get my entry in before heading off to sleep.

OMG! How cute are those gals! I adore Day 3!

So, the challenge is to make anything we like using today's stamp.
I made two junk journals last week using Marlene's die for the cover and pages - the reason I made two was because I planned on doing the #dephemerember in one, and the second as a spare...well, now it's no longer a spare! LOL, and no, I haven't started my ephemera one yet!!!!! Too much going on at the moment.

I stamped and coloured my girls with my Intensity Markers.
I used a stencil from last years Advent Calendar with Marlene's Funky and Wow Neon paints and a die cut from Marlene's XXL Collector's Book.
I really love it! Great start to my Junk Journal.

Now I have completed this challenge, I will make a start on my December Page in my Desk Calendar for the monthly Challenge Marlene has going for the Advent Calendar this year.

Phew, I am struggling to keep up and still need to get those Christmas Cards posted!.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!
