Creative Warriors Inspiration # 39

I created a double journal page layout using this month's Challenge Image pack Pieces of Me by Michelle Grant for my second February Inspiration Post for Michelle's Creative Warriors.

I used the A5 black and white image and fussy cut her out.
I adhered some coloured background paper from the pack on the right side of the page and then adhered my girl on top.
I coloured my girl using my Neo II crayons.
I coloured the rest of my blank pages with black acrylic paint and added some white and blended in to give a smoky shadowy feel. My saying was then added.
Lastly, I doodled around the saying with my white gel pen and called it done.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 15

Time for my next project to inspire you, which is a Mash Up of Michelle Grant's Crowned pack and Gracie Grant's Accept pack.

Wouldn't you know it, a spelling mistake...nevermind, I can live with it, as no-one is perfect, right!

I started with the right page having some leftover paint brayered on it with that pink, so thought that would be a nice frame to start off with.
I grabbed on my new Bee Arty stencils and used my teal acrylic paint and popped it on both sides of both pages to give it a bit of grounding and connection.
I then used a few rolls of washi tape and put some of that around my pages too.
I then cut a couple of circles in half that I had left over and placed them around my page until I found a good balance for them.
I adhered both my girls and after applying a clear gesso on them, I used my Neo II crayons with a aqua brush and popped some colour on them.
After then putting my saying down, I used a normal black pen and doodled a border.

Pretty happy with, mistakes and all.

Well, I hope I have inspired you to look at your packs a little but differently.

Don't forget to share with us any of your projects over on the Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook group, we'd love to see them.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 14

Time for my next project to inspire you, which is using the New Release Challenge Pack for February called Modern Misses by Annette Gearside.

I used leftover ink and created my rainbow type layout.
I printed my modern miss on copy paper and fussy cut and adhered to my page.
I printed the flowers on rice paper and again fussy cut and adhered to page.
I used my Neo II Crayons and a water brush and coloured my images.
Lastly I added a saying from one of my many Uniquely Creative Cut-a-parts.

So much fun!

Well, I hope I have inspired you to try this month's Challenge and join us over on the Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook group, we'd love to see your projects.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Art Journal Junkie October 2022 - Day 5

Day 5 of 31 days of Art Journaling with Art Journal Junkie Facebook Group!

So we have 3 colours: Mint, Grey and Green
An Affirmation Quote: I love who I am becoming
An element: Keys

Today I got my Neo II Crayons out and had a play.

I also used my Visible Image Creative Chaos stamp set with Distress Oxide inks.
Some White and Green acrylic paints with a couple of stencils from my stash - I think they both might be Dylusions ones - the green one is.
I went over the flowers with my Black Life of Colour paint pen to bring it out of the background.

I love who I am becoming with my art journals - a journey I am enjoying.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 16 - Passion, Ruby, Chipboard.
#cwjjj16

I mixed a Red and a Violet Purple to get my Ruby Red paint.
I then painted my half doily in my Junk Journal, because that's the next page, and added a girl from Tammy's Bonkers Pack.
My two chipboard hearts are from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and I painted them with the same mixture.
My saying is from Michelle Grant's Purpose Pack.
My passion is clearly my craft as that page was very fiddly, and you can see I broke part of the doily in the creation.

So, I then did the next prompt and we are in the middle of my signature, so I got to play with the whole doily!

Junk Journal July 2022, 17 - Let it go Or Embrace, Turquoise, Tissue paper/Deli paper.
#cwjjj17

This time my napkin had the tourquoise strip that matched my Neo II crayon perfectly so I was able to colour my doily and blend in to my napkin reasonably well.
My image is from Michelle Grant's Crowned pack.
I decided to write my saying and mix the lettering.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 15 - Courage, Emerald, Pattern Paper.
#cwjjj15

I used a piece of Background patterned paper by Tanya Froud, along with an image from Michelle Grant's Peace files.
I grabbed out my Neo II crayons and used the Emerald Green around the edges on onto my image.
My saying I wrote around the back edge.
"Have the COURAGE of your convictions"
That has real meaning to me at the moment and a timely reminder.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Rockabilly Altered Card

Full Deck Challenge 2 - Card 6.
The prompts are out and they are: Sheet Music, Black Mark Making, Flower/s and Turquoise.

Was easy to grab some music sheet scraps from my stash to pop on the card.
I then used my Turquoise Neo II Crayon and coloured some of the card and moved it around with some water. I then grabbed my Black Neo II crayon and made my black marks.
Lastly, I adhered my Rockabilly girls with her flowers. My image in by Ephemoire and is aprt of her Rockabilly collection.

I am pretty happy with how she turned out.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Mark Making

My next prompt is Mark Making for #MondayPromptProject.

Pretty quick and easy one today after work.

Grabbed my journal and my Neo II crayons along with my aqua water brush.

I had some fun just making my marks and then adding the water brush to make them pop.
Not the most inventive, but was very relaxing.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Botanical

I'm on a roll with my #MondayPromptProject catch up!

LOL, now that I say it I probably won't do anymore for a week or two!

Next on my list is Botanical, and I watched the video and then got to drawing.

I used my Black Aquarellable pencil with a aqua water brush.
Grabbed my Neo II Crayons and got my background down.
My Botanical is flower stickers from my planner stash - these are from Planners Anonymous.
Quite peaceful I think.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Wonder

This week #MondayPrompt Project is all about handwriting.

Mine is not the neatest or appealing, but this weeks class is great as you get to smudge and hide some of it!

I used my Neo II Crayons and Black Aquarellable pencil by Stabilo for my background, writing and drawing.
A page from an old novel and black gel pen.

I had a lot of fun creating this layout and love the outcome.
I have missed some of the weeks, but I do make the effort to create the ones that appeal to me. I might do the others at a later date if I have the time......we are all  time poor these days that is for sure!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Wanderlust 2021 - Week 5

So much fun doing week 5 of Wanderlust this week!

This month our theme is Ephemera and Kasia was our teacher this week.

Such a fun page that brought a smile to me face after a tough week.

My boy is from Tim Holtz Paperdolls, washi tapes from my stash, papers from a 6x6 pack in my stash, some old music sheets and some stamps from some happy mail.
I even got to play with my Neo II Crayons and black Aquarellable pencil along with white and clear Gesso.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Wanderlust 2021 - Week 3

Wanderlust 2021 Week 3 is with Kasia Avery and we are doing self portraits.

I did one of these last year with Lifebook 2020, and I have to say, I still struggled to put the paint over the drawing.....I think I drew it better this year, plus this year it's a bit easier as it's front on so that helped.
But let me tell you, those glasses do my head in!

It turned out a bit more cartoonist then it was meant to, but I LOVE it and wouldn't change a thing.
Yes, even those wonky glasses!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Wanderlust 2021 - Week 1

I have started this year with a very heavy heart as we had to say goodbye to our beloved Bee Jay - a rescued Greyhound we adopted over 9 years ago.

I started Wanderlust last year for the first time and managed to get through the first 5 or so months and then life got in the way with all things Covid related and the problems it brought with it.
I had thought I would just start it over again this year and do it, but decided 2 weeks out that I would sign up for 2021 and start from fresh.
I will endeavor to do each week as it comes.
I will admit that last year I had signed up to 3 other year long courses and it was a bit full on, and no I didn't get any further with those either - so this year, just Wanderlust as I think it's the right one for me.

So, this month our Topic Theme is "Reflection" and our first class is with Kasia Avery.

My page is dedicated to our Bee Jay who was white and fawn, so my colours I have tried to reflect that.
I love how this page has turned out and think I will use these colours for this year.

I used a digital image and sentiment by Michelle Grant Designs (a wonderful Australian designer) from the file # 17 Covid, and printed the girl on tissue paper.
My colour mediums are acrylic paints by Mont Marte, Creative Pl (Aldi) and Derivan Student, Neo II crayons and Bic Kids pencils.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!
