Gecko Galz ATC Challenge

It's been a while since I joined in the ATC Challenge over at Gecko Galz and with this month's page being Alice in Wonderland inspired, I just could not let it go by without creating.

It's a fab set of three!
I used only the PDF backgrounds and images from the sheet supplied by Kim (go grab it here) with my words being from Michelle Grant Designs - Mini Words by Karen Yates.
I also sponged around the edges with Black Soot distress ink.

You don't need to add a tonne of stuff to have a great looking ATC.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 25

Time for my next project to inspire you.

I used the New Release July Image Challenge Truth, by Michelle Grant.

I printed off the images and with the coloured one, I did a image transfer to get her mirrored on my page.
It worked pretty well, a little bit of her cheek but I'm okay with that.
Added some washi tape and then some stenciling with some white gesso to blend it all.
I used I added a quote from Karen Yates Little Word Bits #3.
Lastly I doodled a border around the edges.

There is still time to join the challenge.
Don't forget to share with us any of your projects over on the Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook group, we'd love to see them.

I printed off my unicorn on tissue paper and my sentiment and background papers on normal copy paper.
All I needed was some acrylic paint, glitter markers and water paints
Then some doodling around the edge with a black paint pen.

I hope I have inspired you in some way to get creative.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 23

Can you believe we are almost halfway through the year already!
It really is going by too quickly. With that said, here is my next project to inspire you.

I started with putting a layer of black gesso on my page.
I adhered my background, which is from Daydream Wallpapers by Karen Yates.
Then I adhered this month's Challenge Image Miss Delightful by Annette Gearside an top before colouring her with my Inktense Water Pencils and Black Paint pen for the dots.
I am not sure but I may have had a bit too much medium under that right check as I ended up with a huge coloured splotch there. Nevermind, I just added some colouring around her face to give her a grungy bothered look.
I used a Art By Marlene Sticker Quote to finish it off.

Well, I hope I have inspired you, and you still have time to get your challenge in to win a discount voucher to add to your collection of Michelle and Teams wonderful designs.

Don't forget to share with us any of your projects over on the Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook group, we'd love to see them.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 22

Time for my next project to inspire you.

I have used one of the girls from Seeker by Michelle Grant.
My words are from Little Word Bits #3 by Karen Yates.

I printed my girl on tissue paper and adhered onto my paint mop up music paper from a few months ago.
I then put down some white gesso to dull my mop up page in my journal and added some stamping using Spring Flowers stamps from Bee Arty.
I used Black Soot Distress Ink on the edges of my music sheet and then adhered onto my page.
Add my sentiment and then doodled a border around the edges.

I have been struggling to inspire myself lately, so hope I have inspired you a little bit to get your jounral out and use what's around you.

A couple of music sheets with distress ink on them and cut into circles, along with a  bit of doodling for edges and stamping with a Unity Stamps stamp to give some extra depth.

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 20

Time for my next project to inspire you, which is using the New Release May Image Challenge Knowing,  by Michelle Grant.

I used a rainbow Gel Print that I created last weekend.
I added some of the texture image strips along my sides.
I die cut my girl in an oval shape and after adhering onto my background, I then grabbed out some water inks and added some splashes and drips,
Once dry, I then used my gold paint pen and went along some of Michelle's lines and added some of my own to extend them.
I added a quote form Karen Yates Lite Word Bits #2
Lastly I doodled a border around the edges.

Well, I hope I have inspired you to look at your packs a little but differently.

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 19

Time for my next project to inspire you, which is using the New Release Pack for this month's Challenge Charmed by Michelle Grant.

I created this background during the Easter Challenges that were happening on Facebook so thought I would use it.

So I adhered it to my journal page and then set about colouring in my girl and some of the flowers. I grabbed my Inktense Pencils and had a play around. I must say that I coloured my flowers 3 times and love how the colour was more vibrant each time.

I then decided where to put her and the flowers and adhered.
I used a saying from Karen Yates Little Word Bits #3. These Little Word Bit files are a must have and so many different sayings to use with different fonts.

Lastly, I doodled a frame around the outside to make it less plain and I called it done.

Don't forget to share with us any of your projects over on the Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook group, we'd love to see them.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 18

Time for my next project to inspire you, which is a Mash Up of Secret Garden Wallpaper by Elisa Ablett for my cover, with one of the Girls from Michelle's Expand Wallpaper pack. Words from Karen Yates' Little Word Bits #2 Pack.

I grabbed my Art By Marlene Journal Book die and used the Secret Garden paper for my cover as well as my tag - Jaded Blossom die.
The small tag I die cut one of the girls from the Expand pack.
Added a piece of ripped paper from Secret Garden and then my saying from Little Word Bits #2.
Before sticking my tag down, I wrapped a piece of lace from my stash and then added a resin feather which I used Finnabair waxes on. Lastly was a piece of ribbon from my stash and a brad to use to hold my signature in and as a closure.

Well, I hope I have inspired you to look at your packs a little but differently.

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 17

Time for my next project to inspire you, which is a Mash Up of  Expand and Rainbow Lyrical Wallpapers, No1 Pattern Pack and Paper Dolls Starter #1 pack.

I started with some stenciling using black acrylic paint on the left page. On the right page I wiped off the stencil to give the faded look.
I then adhered some patterns printed on tissue paper and a bit a white gesso in places to fade out spots and blend a bit. I adhered my girl from Michelle Grants Expand pack.

On the right side, I added my tissue paper print from Rainbow Lyrical by Karen Yates and then used Distress Crayons to add some additional colour and blend. I added some black acrylic paint to my page edges and blended that out too.
While I had the crayons out, I added a touch of yellow to my left page as a focal point.

I then added black acrylic paint and crayons to colour my paper doll and adhered her to my page.
I then added my "It will work out" saying on tissue paper.

Many many layers of tissue paper on this one.

Creative Warriors 2022 Calendar - April

If you have Michelle's Creative Warriors 2022 Calendar, you can repurpose the months and enter the Challenge over on the Facebook page.

I adore this image from Michelle Grant, which is the April spread.

I used a few of my washi tapes from Your Creative Studio, along with some book pages to create my background.
To fill in the gaps, I used my distress paints in coordinating colour that Michelle used.
Added some stamping and splots.
Lastly I used a saying from Michelle Grant Design by Karen Yates - Little Word Bits #2.

I hope you like it, although I don't blog too much these days, I still create, and admit I am more likely to pop it on my Instagram account as it is much quicker.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Mermaid Dream World

This month I did a layout in my altered diary for my project to inspire you by using one of the mermaids from the Mermaid Dream World Kit Club August 2022 by Gecko Galz.

I used a dark violet acrylic paint and painted around the border of my pages.
Next I used a background paper from Gecko Glaz that I got in one of my DT Kits and torn around the edges and then adhered that to the centre of my layout.
Fussy cut my mermaid and adhered her.
Next I used 2 of the stamps from Art by Marlene's 2022 Advent Calendar and stamps around my border to give some interest.
Lastly, I used one of Karen Yates saying from her Little Word Bits #3 file.

I hope you like them and are inspired to join in on one of our many challenges this month.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 10

Time for my next project to inspire you, which is a Mash Up of  Michelle Grant's September Challenge image Affinity, Ruby Yates Ruby's Doodlings Mini, Michelle Grant's Pattern #1 and Karen Yates Little Word Bits #3.

I used the colours from Michelle's image that I printed on tissue paper.
I collaged some old music paper and coffee stained grid paper with one of the Pattern 1 images printed on tissue paper.
A light layer of white gesso on some areas and then I put some paint on most areas.
A few stencils with more of the same paints and black splashes.
I coloured Ruby's girls and heads with pencils and stuck down.
Karen's sentiment was just right for this page.
I have Ruby's heads coming out as thought clouds over to the girl as though Affinity is thinking this.
A doodled a border around the pages and all done.

Well, I hope I have inspired you to look at your packs a little bit differently.

So we have 3 colours: Orange, Grey and Green
An Affirmation Quote: Let your dreams be your wings.
An element:  Wings

I got the 2021 and 2022 Holiday and Halloween Distress Crayons yesterday so thought today was a good do to do a swatch chart and use on my layout!

My saying is from Karen Yates Little Word Bits #2.

I have to say, this layout is very shinny with those distress crayons.
I love it.

Art Journal Junkie October 2022 - Day 12

So we have 3 colours: Coral, Cream and Apricot
An Affirmation Quote: Life isn't about finding Yourself, It's about creating Yourself

I love how my layout turned out.
I am enjoying trying these colour combinations that I normally would steer clear of!
I used some acrylic paints with a Finnabair stencil.
Then I got my September Subscriptions box out by Your Creative Studio and created my collages. Once I had worked out how it was all going to go with my girl, I adhered down. I also used some washi tape and rub-ons from 49 and Market.
My girl is from the Art Image pack called Silent by Michelle Grant
I then added my sentiment from the Add-on Pack  Little Words #3 by Karen Yates.
Lastly, some white splatters.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

RIP Ma'am

History making with the loss of our Queen this week.
Such sad sad news to wake up and learn our Queen, Head of State, had passed.

My Porch Prints gave us a beautiful file in memory of the Queen, and I felt with Michelle Grant's Affinity Image for this months challenge, was a perfect match.

For the opposite page, I used one of Karen Yates Rainbow Lyrical Wallpapers.
After tearing the edges and adhering down, I just had to add an appropriate stamp saying.
Love this saying that is in one of my Jaded Blossom sets.

It will be very interesting to see how the future pans out, not just for the Royal family, but for us in the Commonwealth too.

RIP Ma'am, thank you for your dedicated Service.
You will be sorely missed. xoxo

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!
