ICAD 2022 - # 10 Rubik's Cube and # 11 Rainbows

Next card # 10 - Rubik's Cube, as well as # 11 -Rainbows.

Week 2 Theme is: Collage, found paper & Acrylics.

Busy couple of days for me with work and other life commitments that I had to do both yesterday and today's icad's after work to catch up.
Well, I didn't have to, but I wanted to so I could stay up to date.

Anyway, I grabbed my box of scraps out and found some glossy paper that I had used alcolhol inks on, as well as a mop up napkin.

So for my Rubik's Cube, I die cut the glossy card and got my small cubes to lay down on my collage of music, book and patterned papers with a doily. I used white and Umber acrylic paints mixed with Flow medium to get more of a glaze to go over my collage.

My Rainbows icad was quicker as I adhered my napkin for the base, a rainbow die cut I cut a few months ago from a scrap page that I had played with my gelato's on.

Cute Vintage Halloween

A new month, so a new challenge starting over at This is Halloween.

This is Halloween is a Halloween and/or Gothic themed Monthly Challenge.
So both themes are accepted all year round when stated!

This month I decided to make 2 projects using the Cute Vintage Halloween Mini Scrapbook kit by Lilli Rain Designs

Using the Pumpkin background paper, I die cut a dex card for my base using my Heidi Swapp Rolodex die.
I then also die cut my black cardstock piece using the Imagine die from Bee Arty.
Last piece of the puzzle is one of the images from the kit and sponging all the edges with Black Soot distress ink and then adhering to finish my dex card.

My card centerpiece is using a playing card and adhering a piece of tissue paper from my stash that I had created when I played with alcohol inks a few months back. I did peel back a bit to have my 3 of Clubs peeking out a touch. I fussy cut another image out and sponged the edges of it and the playing card with Black Soot distress ink and then adhered together and then onto my black card base.

Hope you get a chance to play along with us - enter here.

I am entering my Dex card in the following Challenges:

Don't be afraid of silly ideas

Full Deck Challenge 2 - Card 5.
The prompts are out and they are: Happy Scraps, Lace, Buttons, Sentiment.

It is so much fun to go through your scraps and have a play.

I used 4 different scraps from my box - the first one is rice paper that I played with alcohol inks, second is a torn bit of music sheet, third is alcohol inks again but on glossy photo paper and the fourth is a piece of patterned paper.
Bit of lace trim up and button from my stash.
My sentiment is from Art by Marlene Bold & Bright Sticky Quotes book.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Wanderlust 2021 - Week 15

Wanderlust 2021 week 15 and Kate Crane has us using the Geli Plate again.

Now I'm not going to lie, I was pretty happy to be using the geli plate again and in reality, I really thought this would be way easier than it was!
I won't say they are failures, but they aren't great either!

So the left is my first print, using an acrylic paint that was too light. The right is my second attempt and now I have gone too dark with the acrylic paint that the alcohol ink doesn't really show the stencil pattern. I have to say I do like the left print as a background though.

So with the silhouette stencils on, I like them a lot more now.
I used my new stencil from Bee Arty called The Owl and the Pussy Cat - designed by Michelle Grant.

I also like my book page that I used to clean my brayer and the stencil with.....all ready my another project down the track!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Steampunk Challenge

We have this wonderful Steampunk Owl image to create with for the Gecko Galz Steampunk Challenge this month.

What an incredibly busy month I have had this month of March - and my god, can you believe that Easter is literally around the corner!
Where is the year going already!

So I just love this image, and figured why not create a bookmark as I am getting back into using my planner more - you know I really am more organised when I use my planner - not sure why, maybe I feel more accountable!
I used one of the water paper tags I created with left over Alcohol Ink the other month, along with a Tim Holtz Die and teal cardstock as my backing.
Finished off with some funky yarn I bought at my local Lifeline store.

I hope you had some time this month to create just for the enjoyment of it, and maybe check out the link for the Steampunk Challenge - it's free.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Off with their heads ....

Time for another challenge over at Through The Craft Room Door Challenge.
As always, the theme is Anything Goes.

Our Generous Sponsor this week is Oddball Arts.

The prize is a $10 voucher from her store.

I got to create with this Off with their Heads image.

I used a glossy photo paper and alcohol inks for my background. Almost looks like she is brewing up a spell!
I coloured her with Distress Inks.
The sentiment comes as part of the image. I used an old Oval Stampin Up punch to punch it out.

I hope you find time in your week to join us.
