Wanderlust 2021 - Week 9

Serendipity is the next theme over at Wanderlust 2021.

I must say that I really enjoyed this lesson.
How cool is that magazine image with White Gel pen doodling over it!
There is a lot going on with this page - as well as the magazine image, I have used pieces of different papers from junk mail flyers and wrapping paper, tissue paper with stamped image, acrylic paint, water paint, black and white gel pen along with a normal HB pencil.
The initial layer you can't see any of is two ink sprays I put down first....you can just see a hint of my journaling on the right hand side done in HB pencil.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Christmas Challenge

Ok, Christmas you say......lol, yes I know it's a bit early, but is it too early to make a start on your cards?

Gecko Galz have started a Monthly Christmas Challenge using the image supplied.
This month it is a cute Black Cat getting into mischief - reminds me very much of my gorgeous Pepsi that I had before the kids came along.

A very simple Christmas card in I am hoping a vintage style.
I used a kraft card base, half a coffee stained doily I made and my saying is from Tim Holtz Ideo-ology Clippings Sticker pack. I did also sponge the image edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Wanderlust 2021 - Week 8

This week we had Renee Mueller as our teacher and another great lesson.

This is my take on her project.

I like it a lot, and I know I will have fond memories down the track looking back through the journal.

I must confess that in general, I flick through the video, so to speak. No disrespect to the teachers, but I find all the talking and hand waving quite annoying, so I fast forward in sections to get the gist of it.
LOL, then naturally I go off on my own tangent and do the bits I can remember or that appealed .... sometimes I do actually flick through it again.

Anyways, I know I have the basics of this class and am happy with my page all about #AINLIFE - I work in a Nursing Home and at times it is more than trying to say the least.
I love my job, but some days, well it just gets me down. Which is why I craft everyday, even just a little bit.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Never More Designs Gothic Challenge

I meant to join in last month's Gothic Challenge over at Never More Designs Blog but ran out of time.

So with time running out again, I got myself organised a bit more and just finished this tag for the February Monthly Gothic Challenge.

I started out with the intention making a Bookmark, but got a bit adventurous and added some lace, ribbon and bling, and now she's a beautiful bookmark/tag to pop in my journal.

The tag is a piece of patterned paper from the Birthday Surprise Mystery box I got from La-La Land Crafts.
I love the black and gold through out it - the gold glitter in it doesn't show up too well in the photo.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz

Using the image of the month for Gecko Galz I made a sweet Gift Bag.

First time playing with the new die from La-La Land Crafts as it came in the Birthday Mystery Box I finally received last week.

Entering in the Monthly Image Blog Challenge.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

#jjec 42 - 45 - Oldtimer

So here is the next lot of my Junk Journal Embellishment Challenge projects.

#jjec42 - Oldtimer / Tuckspot

I used images from my paid subscription - February Club with TLC by  TLCreates Vintage

#jjec 43 - Valentine / Envelope

I coloured up Valentine Derek by Doctor Digi's House of Stamps using my pencils and added some hearts using copic makers and white gel pens on some cut out music sheet. The strip of patterned paper for my belly band is from my stash.

#jjec44 - Butterfly / Paperclip

I again used images from TLCreates Vintage, this time a sheet that was gifted in the Facebook Group.
After fussy cutting the Butterfly and Bee out, I coloured with my Uniqolour Markers by Uniquely Creative to give a vintage look to them. I then adhered onto paperclips.

#jjec45 - Paris / Booklet

This time I have used Journaling Cards from the Magical Macarons Journal Kit by Ephemoire.
Just love these!
I created a tuck spot by using the larger journal page. I also adhered one of the ticket strips and gluing so the flap has a little tab .

I am loving the variety of the challenge prompts and makes!
See you again next month with the next lot.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Sally So Sickly

Time for another challenge over at Through The Craft Room Door Challenge.
As always, the theme is Anything Goes.

Our Generous Sponsor this week is Oddball Art.

The prize is a $10 voucher for their store.

I chose to create with Sally So Sickly.

I coloured using my Born Markers.
There isn't a great colour selection for skin tones, but I'm quite happy with how she turned out. A bit more practice and the blend could be better.
I then fussy cut around the edge of all the images and then adhered to my card base of patterned paper.

This is my last project with the Design Team as I have stepped down due to work commitments and life in general. I shall still continue creating and sharing, but maybe not so many cards and paper crafts as such.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creations in Pink # 31

Time for our first Challenge of 2021 at Creations in Pink....remember it's anything goes, but has to be mainly Pink.

This is my last project on the Design Team as if you follow my blog, you will already know that I am stepping down from all my Design Team commitments due to work and life.

This month our Sponsor is Lemon Shortbread.

I created with Ballerina with wings.

I have coloured the Ballerina with copic markers and then fussy cut her out.
I adhered her with foam dots onto my pink card matt, and then my card front.
My sentiment is from one of my Uniquely Creative Cut A parts.
She is rather sweet.

I hope you find time to play along with us this month and I look forward to seeing your creations.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Wanderlust 2021 - Week 7

Week 7 already!
I mean really, how fast is the year going already!

I really enjoyed Kate Cranes class this week over at Wanderlust 2021.

I used an old photo from my husbands family side - it would be 1915-1925 I am guessing.
No one is sure exactly who, etc, but it and some others were in among the photo's during a clean out when an Aunty passed a few years back.
I had started the Family Tree so I got to keep them and sort all the photos out.

No real thread, meaning to my layout but I did stick to my colour combo I am using this year so the colouring will look familiar.
I have to say it is good to grab those four colours and just start to create without having to debate different combos with myself...

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Wanderlust 2021 - Week 6

So this week I was not that enthusiastic about the Wanderlust 2021 class lesson.
I mean we aren't going to like every class we come across are we! and that is no disrespect to the teacher at all.

So I watched the videos of her showcasing three different ways, thought no not this time and then after sleeping on it, thought why not give it a go and see what comes of it.......

I didn't watch the videos again, but went ahead with what I recalled watching and hearing from the day before.
I do remember her saying that once the background is done, it can look like a Hot Mess.....yep, nailed that part 100%. Mine looked like a Hot Mess in mud!
Well, that's were the stenciling can take that and make some sense with it.
I used two stencils by Darkroom Door.

After the stenciling, I added a saying from Michelle Grant Designs "Silent" kit and have to say that I smiled and I do like how it finally ended up.

SO, if you don't like the class, do it with an open mind, give it a go and put your take on it.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

#jjec 38 - 41 - Fly

Here's a journal layout I did for Junk Journal Embellishment Challenge.

Each week you get a Prompt and optional make - this is the first week of 2021, being #jjec38 and it's Word of 2021 with the option of making a Tag. (LOL, I was a late starter and this is my 4th week as I started on Week 41 and have worked back so now I am up to date with this week being 42.

#jjec38

And here are the other 3 I did as well.

#jjec39 - Winter / Topper or Journal page

#jjec40 - Dog / Faux postage stamp

#jjec41 - Mannequin / Tag

So now I am up to date, I will try to keep my posts up to date as well, even if I do it once a month.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Lil Coffee Bean Bestie

Time for a new Challenge over at The Paper Funday Blog.

As we are every month, our theme is Anything Goes, and our twist this month if you want to play along with is Love is in the Air.

This month we are sponsored by My Besties and Hetty Clare Art.

I am using an image by My Besties called Lil Coffee Bean Bestie - Doll 16

I coloured the image in with a new set of pencils I bought - it's nice to mix it up a bit.
I decided to print the image larger than I normal would so I could adhere it on the front of my crafting planner.

How sweet! and a perfect addition to my planner cover.

This is my last posting from the team as I have decided to step down to take some time out to just be. Like a lot of people, with the events over the last year, both with the pandemic and also in my life, I am needing a break to recharge, evaluate and decide how I move forward.
I have enjoyed my 6 months on the team and hope I have inspired at least one of you along the way.

Hope you find time to join in our Challenge.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Square Flower Thanks

Time for another challenge over at Through The Craft Room Door Challenge.
As always, the theme is Anything Goes.

Our Generous Sponsor this week is Ikes Art.

The prize is a $10 voucher for their store.

I chose to create with Flower Square.

I coloured using my Born Markers and also used my White Gel pen.
I wasn't too sure how I would colour this up, but tried to go with a stained glass look, not too sure that worked to be honest.I am happy with how it looks as it is.
I then fussy cut around the edge.
I coloured one of my mdf sentiments with my Born Marker and then added Clear Wink of Stella to give it some sparkle.
Then I used layered it onto my square card base of textured white card stock.

I am entering the following Challenges:

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!
