Creative Warriors Inspiration # 43

My second Inspiration Post this month for Michelle's Creative Warriors, I have created a layout using one of the black and white images from this month's April Wishes Challenge pack by Michelle Grant.

For my background, I printed off a background paper on tissue from Michelle's Believe July 2022 Challenge pack.
Next I added some stencilling. I then added my image and also fussy cut some of the flower mushroom groups added them as well. I used Distress Crayons to give a diluted colour on my images.
I then used some foam stamps to stamp my quote and a black pen to outline my words, as well as giving my layout a border.

I hope I have inspired you just a little bit.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creative Warriors Inspiration # 41

For me second Inspiration Post this month for Michelle's Creative Warriors, I have created a layout using one of the girls from the Chill Art Image pack by Michelle Grant.

I have been playing with Distress Oxide inks and my Gel plate so thought why not do it direct onto my journal page.....so if you don't like sharp lines, then this probably isn't for you. I myself don't mind them as this is my journal and my journey.
I was undecided whether to place my book directly over the gel plate or to turn the gel plate up and place it on my page.....well yes, I did the turn your book upside down and go with it technique. I quite like it offset and then inked up my gel plate again and dabbed as it were around the white border to give it a more rustic type look.
I adhered my girl and sentiment and then got out my Art my Marlene Mixed Media Play stamp set and stamped around my pages.
Lastly I thought my girl needed some colour, so I used 2 of Tim Holtz Distress Crayons to give her a lift.

Instead of a black line around the border, I moved the Stormy Sky ink pad around the edges of the pages to break it up a bit.

I hope I have inspired you just a little bit.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

24 Tags of Christmas

Have you been enjoying the Gecko Galz 24 Tags of Christmas?
Ok, this is my 2nd Tag I made.

Oh my, how sweet!
These gorgeously sweet girls are from the Very Vintage Christmas Set.

I fussy cut them out and adhered onto my tag.
My tag I made from a book page that I had used for mopping up some distress oxide inks when doing my Junk Journal Challenge last month.
I added a strip of lace to the bottom and used my sewing machine to go around the border for a more vintage look. (LOL, I tell myself that).
My saying is one of my Gold Foil Planner Stickers.
Then a bit of seam binding in the punched hole and a super sweet tag.

I hope you like my tag, and I have one more to show you on the 19th!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas Tags

Here is Day 4 of 12 Days of Christmas Tags by Scrapping Clearly.

Out with the sewing machine again.
This is a wonderful tag with the added pocket.
A new way to use that pom pom (bobble) ribbon!
I am learning so many new techniques to use my stash. So glad I signed up for this Kit!
Can't believe we are a third of the way through already.

See you tomorrow with Day 5!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

My saying is another Art By Marlene Sticker Quote.

I really love how it turned out and combing the ephemera onto my pages.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

I then stamps some clock faces from an old clear set in my stash that I've had for quite a while.
My ephemera is again Vectoria Designs.
To finish off I used some thin fluid acrylic ink and doodled around the edges of the page and wrote my affirmation.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

I then spritzed with water and let it run/blend a bit and then dried it off with my heat gun.
My quote and Eeyore sticker are from my stash that my Crafty Bestie gifted me. They really suit todays theme and Affirmation.

Art Journal Junkie October 2022 - Day 11

Day 11 of 31 days of Art Journaling with Art Journal Junkie Facebook Group!

So we have 3 colours: Fuchsia, Teal and Purple
An Affirmation Quote: Embrace the Mess
An element: Doodles / Zentangle

I really enjoyed doing my page last night with ephemera that I decided to continue with the other side and create another one today.

This time I used ephemera from a ephemera pack I bought from Shanouki Art, who happens to be in Australia so that is a bonus, and I love watching her create on You Tube. You know, it's not really like I need to buy more, I have so much it's not funny!

More splashes for my Messy side and a bit of doodling around the stars with a hint of zentagling.
I really enjoyed this page as well.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Art Journal Junkie October 2022 - Day 10

Day 10 of 31 days of Art Journaling with Art Journal Junkie Facebook Group!

So we have 3 colours: Blue, Grey and Navy
An Affirmation Quote: Flow with your Creative Spirit
An element: Birds

I was short on time yesterday but I did manage to get this page done and posted on the facegroup page last night. I just forgot to blog it!

Anyway, because I was short on time, I decide to actually use some the ephemera from my September Subscription box from Your Creative Studio. This is my first box with them and I love it!
I also fussy cut my fantastic bird from a Daphne's Diary postcard.
I used some Distress Oxide Ink Refill for my splatters.

I really enjoyed creating this page and it's been something I have wanted to do for awhile now so I am glad I did it!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Art Journal Junkie October 2022 - Day 6

Day 6 of 31 days of Art Journaling with Art Journal Junkie Facebook Group!

So we have 3 colours: Orange, Aqua and Red
An Affirmation Quote: Today I will be Fearless
An element: Cogs/Steampunk

Today I grabbed out the Distress Oxide Inks and played!
I used wiped the pads over my pages and sprayed with water. I did this a couple of times to get some depth to the colours.
The I got my stencils out and got them on the pages.
Some of my Indgio Blu stamps added some more steampunk to my layout.
Lastly I used a Distress Ink Marker around my page and washed out with water for a real grunge look.

So that is today's page and I have to say I was a bit hesitant with the colour combo, but I love the outcome.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Today I got my Neo II Crayons out and had a play.

I also used my Visible Image Creative Chaos stamp set with Distress Oxide inks.
Some White and Green acrylic paints with a couple of stencils from my stash - I think they both might be Dylusions ones - the green one is.
I went over the flowers with my Black Life of Colour paint pen to bring it out of the background.

I love who I am becoming with my art journals - a journey I am enjoying.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

It's all about you!

This month's Sparkles Monthly Challenges #156 is Mushroom's and other Fungi.

This month I made an adorable Gift Tag!

Goodness, how stinkin' cute is that cup with the Mushroom in it!
I was lucky enough to grab this year's 2022 Daphne's Diary on clearance at my Newsagent's and knew this was just perfect for this month's challenge. I bought it purely to cut up as it has sooo many great images in it that I can use.
I picked a black tag from my stash to make a gift tag with.
I fussy cut my image and then set it aside to create my background on my tag.
I decided to use my Rose Revival stencil (for the first time) by Colour Blast with some Distress Oxide inks. I can't tell you how beautiful this turned out in real life, and why have I not used it before!
I adhered my cup and then also used one of my sayings from a Uniquely Creative cut-apart in my stash.

I look forward to seeing your take on the theme.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 32 Sky

Next card # 32 - Sky

Week 5 Theme is: Working in series with a continuing theme or constraint.

If creating your ICAD last minute is "working in series with a continuing theme" fits, then I'm all over it!
Again, no real motivation tonight, but I got it done!

I used a stencil from Bee Arty by Michelle Grant Designs along with distress oxide inks and distress inks. then spritzed with water for that night time sky look.
My saying is a sticker from one of my Art by Marlene Quote books.

I had a lovely afternoon as my daughter decided to call in for coffee bearing donuts! Hubby and I went out for dinner and then home to watch my Rugby League team win their game (Go the Cowboys!)....best Saturday I have had in while!

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Steampunk Monthly Challenge / ICAD 2022 # 17 Mango

I decided that for today's ICAD I would use my challenge image from the Gecko Galz Steampunk Monthly Challenge, as "Mango" is not inspiring me at all, and I do want to keep up with my cards.

So it made sense to freestyle today and get my challenge done at the same time!

My background card I actually made two of, so like the last couple of days, I have another one for another day. To make the background, the four inks I used was Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Inks, with Broken China and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxides. And water of course.

I took some time and fussy cut my image, and yes, it's something I do enjoy doing.
I found this saying on my 6 x12 Stamperia paper set -  Collectables Voyages Fantastiques.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Santa Down Under

I had to make a Christmas card to send overseas so I grabbed my Uniquely Creative Aussie Christmas stamp set, matching die set and Twinkly Stars stencil.

These are from their Stamp & Colour Mini Kit in November 2019.....goodness, I was thinking it was last year!

I used the card by DT Ashleigh Freeston in the project booklet as inspiration.

Distress Oxide inks and modeling paste and I was ready to create!
I used the stencil and paste first on my cream matt.
Once dry, I blended some distress oxide inks aver the matt.
I stamped the emu form the stamp set, used the matching dies to die cut and colour with copics.
The sentiment is from the Cut-apart mini sheet.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2021 # Day 5 Verdigris

Ok, so we are on Day 6..... I ran out of day yesterday, but I did start it if that counts!
Now I have finished it before I tackle today's theme.

So Day 5 was Verdigris - hmmmm, must admit I did have to look this one up and imagine my surprise that I should have known it! The blue/green from copper, commonly used for Steampunk.

Here it is before I spritzed with water.

I have to say that I am mega impressed with myself! Wowers, I think it looks like ones I admire all the time!

So I used a modeling paste through one of my Uniquely Creative stencils that I think came in the Advent Mystery Package last year?? Not 100% sure about the package, but I do know it was from them.

Once it dried overnight, I then grabbed out my Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Inks and on top for the Verdigris effect, I used Broken China and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks.

Last step was to spritz with water and when dry to add my description.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Christmas at Pemberley

Here's some fun Snarky Christmas Tags for gift giving or popping in your journal using the Christmas at Pemberley file from Ephemoire.

I love how these girls turned out!

I quote my quotes from Pinterest, as I do, and after fussy cutting the girls out, I added some Distress inks and oxides to my watercolor paper tags.
I used a Uniquely Creative stencil and added a bit of washi tape as well.
I then adhered some lace and then my girls with foam dots.
Some ribbons at the top and all done..LOVE!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Goth Boss Mixed Media Tag

Here is the first Mixed Media Tag I made using files by Ephemoire.

The file I used is called Goth Boss planner sheet.

Using a watercolor paper tag from my stash, I firstly used Distress Oxide inks (Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo & Fossilized Amber) to create my background.
I sponged the edges of the tag using Scattered Straw Distress Ink and added some script stamping (Kaisercraft) with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I then used a textured woven die (Kaisercraft) to die cut a stencil to use with my  light modeling paste (Liquitex) for added texture.
While that was all drying, I printed off the Month at a Glance planner page and fussy cut both images (one I used on another project) and the glam lady on this tag with the sentiment.
I added some Glossy Accents to the eye sockets to have them stand out a bit more.
Once all dry, I adhered the image and words.
Lastly I added a key and ribbon from my stash.

I am entering her in the following Challenges:

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!
