Just Journal January 2023 - Day 7

Day 7 prompt for Just Journal : Layers.

I  got my Your Creative Studio subscription boxes out and used some post it notes to create my main background. 

Then I created my first ever Snippet Strip! I layered up some scraps off my table and added some beautiful mixed media circles that were gifted to me in a ATC Swap. I got the sewing machine out and stitched down the centre, and then adhered to my page.

I think it fits the prompt perfectly!

Just Journal January 2023 - Day 6

Day 6 prompt for Just Journal : Envelope.

I made my envelope using a page in my Stamperia Alice paper pack.

LOL, I haven't used my envelope punch board in a few years, so naturally buggered it, but as luck would have it, it was too big anyway, so a bit of trimming and second time perfect.

I used one of the offcuts to make my bellyband for the envelope to stay on the page. 

And again, lucky that the punched tag piece actually acts as a clasp for the envelope when sitting in the band.

I also cut out some of the cards from the same Alice Paper pack and popped in my envelope.

Just Journal January 2023 - Day 5

Day 5 prompt for Just Journal : Loaded.

I had fun creating my loaded page!

First I adhered a napkin on my page for my main background. This is from one of my Your Creative Studio Subscription boxes. Also from there, I added some paper, a tag and ticket.

My Latte spot tuck and Coffee pocket are using a digital paper by Lilli Rain Designs called Vintage Coffee Papers Set 1. 

I got the sewing machine out and stitched the sides of my Coffee pocket and then added a ticket and a clip with a lovely flower from Ephemoire to bring it all together.

Love it, and using up more of my stash which is my aim this year!

Just Journal January 2023 - Day 4

Day 4 prompt for Just Journal : Textures.

Oh how much fun to play with textures!

I have used a torn bit of packaging to give me some corrugated space. 

A torn bit of Honeycomb paper which you now can't really see!

Modeling paste through my favourite Kaisercraft Stencil.

I used a piece of bubble wrap and acrylic paint to go over my page to bring it all together.

LOL, this created my hot mess, so I decided to to use a few mini tags from book paper and bubble wrap paint it and then use my alphabet stamps and stamp "Hot Mess".

A lot of fun and a great addition to my Junk Journal.

Just Journal January 2023 - Day 3

Day 3 prompt for Just Journal : A Colour.

I chose the colour Burgandy as it goes well with the page opposite it.

I decided to go Monotone with my Kaisercolour Burgandy so I have ended up with 7 shades. The original from the tube, then 3 with black shades and 3 with white shades.  

Once mixed up, I used the darkest one and laid down my background. Then grabbed my favourite Art by Marlene stencil from her 2021 Advent Calendar and some sponges and coloured my page.

Lastly I added one of Marlene's Sticky Quotes to finish it off.

Must admit, I really like it. LOL, if it was a blank double page, that would not have been the colour I used, so good to surprise ourselves hey!

Just Journal January 2023 - Day 2

Day 2 prompt for Just Journal: Tag.

I must admit that I only managed to get 10 days in with my Dephemerember 2022  journal, so I am using that same journal for this month, and hopefully see me to the end this time!

I used a piece of an old book page from my stash and adhered to my page. 

I then grabbed some tags and a spine from my preprinted stash, this time the file is by Luise Heinzl and is called Wild Birds Journal Cover. (quick look in her Etsy shop and it isn't currently listed)

I used some nice rich yellow velvet ribbon I picked up from the local op shop and stappled it onto my tags.

I do love how this page turned out.

Just Journal January 2023 - Day 1

Happy New Year!

Can you believe it's 2023 already!

Day 1 prompt for Just Journal is "2023"

My word for 2023 is "Clarity", so let's see how we go! 

I also have told the universe that this year I am buying less craft supplies, and using what I have in my abundant stash!

So with that being said, I used some digital images from one of my Digital Curio files and stamps from Dylusions.

Let us hope this year is better than 2022! I have to say it was not the best year I have had, so am definitely hoping for a much improved year ahead.

What are your plans for 2023?

Mine is to spend less on craft supplies and to use what I have!

So with that in mind, I decided to give My Porch Prints "Just Journal - January Journal Prompts a go.

Here is my cover using MPP's freebie with the prompt list.

I added some stickers and a rub-on from my My Creative Studio subscription boxes.

I have made a start and already using my stash supplies!

I hope you all have a safe New Years Eve and see the New Year in safely!
