Spend energy on what matters

Have you seen the Quarterly Challenges over on the Gecko Galz Challenge Blog?

Our second Challenge is an Altered Canvas and ends 29th of May, so plenty of time to get yours in.

Here is my entry using one of the Zen Goddess girls from the freebie during our October 2022 Blog Hop.

I repurposed a 8x10 canvas that I had used for a leaf bouquet that was starting to look a bit worse for wear.

I used one of the resin frames I created the other month and some shimmer mica powder by Colour Blast on it - how good did it come up!
I then have a bit of stamping, some texture paste through a new stencil from Bee Arty, a die cut, some plastic leaf stem and a finnabair metal flower with a mini gold bauble from Christmas time.
My rice paper saying is from Dina Wakley.

I really love how it turned out and have it on my wall by my printer.

I hope you like it and I can't wait to see what the next Challenge will be.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Art Journal Junkie October 2022 - Day 9

Day 9 of 31 days of Art Journaling with Art Journal Junkie Facebook Group!

So we have 3 colours: Lavender, Lemon and Mint
An Affirmation Quote: Create your own Sunshine
An element: Rays

Oh I had some messy fun today with this layout. I am not going to lie, it was a hot mess at one stage and I was not liking it at all. But, more layers and layers and it came around!

I made my own ray of sunshine and this page makes me smile.

A collection of stencils - the only one I know is the sunshine ray is from Tim Holtz. It would be helpful if the all labeled them like Tim does.
My girl "Mischief" is from Michell Grant's Expressible Art Image pack.
The hipster stamp is a Dina Wakley Essential Silhouettes stamp.
A little stamp from Art by Marlene 2021 Advent Calendar as well as a Sticky Quote from her Bold & Bright Sticky Quotes Book.
I used my Black and White Posca Pens to frame the saying, the girl and my page.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Butterflies ATC's

This month's Sparkles Monthly Challenges #153 is Things with Wings.

This month I made a set of Butterflies ATC's.

I was cleaning up my desk - well, sort of, I was looking for something and came across a A4 Collage page I had created for a class a few months ago.....and I thought it would make for great ATC's and/or tags.

So I have already shown you the tag I made using this page, and now here are a set of ATC's as well using a different theme, but just as nice.

My collage page was made using a piece of 160 GSM Digital Paper.
Collaged with strips from music sheets, book pages and patterned paper scraps from stash.
Black ink with stamps, and white gesso with stencils. Then cutting up to sizes for my projects,.

Now on each one I have used ephemera from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Curator Ephemera Pack Snippets for my cluster and Butterflies from his Snippets Ephemera Pack Ensemble.
I then added extra stamping using Vintage Photo distress ink with a stamp from Unity Stamp's L.O.L JoJa Kit (2015) as well as one from Dina Wakley's Scribbly Circles. I then sponged around edges with same ink.
Lastly I added a sentiment from Uniquely Creative Cut-a-parts in my stash and used a black pen to go around the edges of them.

I look forward to seeing your take on the theme.

I am entering in the following Challenges:

Arty Divas Mid-Challenge Reminder

There is still time to enter this months Challenge over at Arty Divas Challenge Blog.
This month's theme is as always "Anything Goes!", doesn't get any easier than that does it!

I was cleaning up my desk - well, sort of, I was looking for something and came across a Collage page I had created for a class a few months ago and I thought it would make for great ATC's and/or tags.

So for today, I made a tag and used part of the page for it by cutting a piece 18 cm x 7 1/2 cm and then trim the top corners off to create my tag with a hole punch for the ribbon.

My collage page was made using a piece of 160 GSM Digital Paper.
Collaged with strips from music sheets, book pages and patterned paper scraps from stash.
Black ink with stamps, and white gesso with stencils. Then cutting up to sizes for my projects,.

I have used ephemera from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Snippets Ephemera Pack Ensemble to create my cluster.
I then added extra stamping using Vintage Photo distress ink with a stamp from Unity Stamp's L.O.L JoJa Kit (2015) as well as one from Dina Wakley's Scribbly Circles.
Then I sponged around edges with the same ink and added some ribbon from my stash.
Lastly I added a couple of sentiments from Uniquely Creative Cut-a-parts in my stash and used a black pen to go around the edges of them.

I love how it turned out - Shabby Chic meets Vinatge!

I look forward to seeing your entry in our Challenges.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Feel Free

The next prompts are out for Full Deck Challenge 2.

Yellow, Glitter, Ribbon and a person.....here's my card.

So much fun playing!
I used my Dina Wakley Scribbly Circles stamp to create a fun background with Vintage Photo Distress ink on my playing card.
I then used a piece of pleated ribbon from my stash - retired Stampin Up.
Some gold glitter washi tape cause if you know me, I hate glitter as a rule so don't have any loose stuff in my craftroom!
I then used 3 die cuts from Art by Marlene from her new book out. I turned the saying on it's side and added the yellow heart to act like a balloon.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

#jjec 61 Stain / Tuckspot

I know I have been a bit hit and miss with posting my #jjec project here on my blog, but I do them every week on my Instagram page.
With doing the ICAD each day again this year, it's easy to remember to pop these here as well.

So this week we have Stain and Tuckspot.

So I grabbed my Milled Lavender Distress Spray Stain by Tim Holtz and Fresh Lime Ink Spray by Dylusions.

I sprayed my backing page and two tags. Once they dried, I sprayed them again to add some more colour and splashes.

My tags I decided to put coloured safety pins instead of ribbon for a change.
I also decided to doodle on my tags for a change. I used white fluid acrylic paint.
My tuckspot is a collage piece I made a few months back with Wanderlust - we made one big page and cut up into smaller sizes to use at a later date - just like now.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Never More Designs Gothic Challenge

Never More Designs Gothic Image Challenge is quite interesting this month.

I wasn't too sure what I would create, but ended up using the image on another of my Coffee Stained signatures I made.

I love the papers in this signature.
I used an old baking tray to stain the papers and left in the tray to dry for a few days.
I was surprised with the goldish marks that come out - very steampunk, gothic look to it with the black marks a long with the rusty ones.
My sentiments are from Dina Wakley Media Collage Words.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!
