#jjec 71 Gnome / Card

So this time round we only have a prompt - Gnome card - or so I thought!
I imagine it is Gnome / Card!
Anyways, I decided to add a belly band for it as I only thought about it when I was doing this blog post up just now.

Ekkkkkkkkk how cute is that postcard!

It is a printable from TLCreates Vintage and the ribbon I used for the band was gifted from my crafty friend in a swap.

I still have 5 to go to catch up, lol, every time I do a couple more a few more weeks have gone by so I'm still way off.....I will get on top of it........

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

#jjec 70 Suitcase / Pocket

My next installment of Junk journal prompts!
#70 is all about the suitcase and pockets....

Well I just had to use my Traveler stamp set from Stampin Up for this one!
I stamped in vintage photo distress ink and added the hot air balloon from the IndigoBlu Mixed Media Special 2 set. The words are from the same set.
I stamped the suitcase on a separate piece of paper and adhered over the globe and passport book.
I then cut out some post-it notes and used as a mask to stamp my balloon in.
LOL, yes it was an after thought! but if you did not know you would never guess.

My pocket is a tab punched out of the page and then adhered the pages together for my pocket.

Love it!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Wanderlust 2021 - Week 39

On my goodness - it's been months since I did my last class - not game to look back, but I know it's a fair few!

Anyway, I thought I'd give this weeks class by Kate Crane a crack to get back in the swing - I really enjoy the process but with my studies and life in general at the moment, the small quick projects are what I can manage.

I did go off course just a touch, but I love the outcome.
Lucky I decided on a set of colours I would use through the year at the beginning so I didn't have to think about that too much.
The butterfly is from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Transparent wings set.
There was some quotes provided but I decide to go with some from my Bonkers file from Michelle Grant Designs.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Alice in Wonderland Loaded Pocket

I had a lot of fun creating this Alice in Wonderland Loaded Pocket for a crafty friend of mine.

I printed off two files from Magpie Printables - The Alice in Wonderland Loaded Pocket, and the AIW Cards.

I then cut them out, sponged the edges and adhered the front pocket onto the base.
I added a little AIW brass charm on a Calabash pin which can be taken off and used elsewhere.

I think it is super cute and that she will love it.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Monthly Image

Ok, as I mentioned yesterday, when I started to create with this month's Gecko Galz Monthly Image, I found that I had done last months but forgot to post it, so here she is finally!

I popped her in my Coffee stained Journal and added a sassy saying.
I love this image and really should print it off again to remind me to use her on another layout sometime........lol, add her to the increasing stash I have to my left!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Monthly Image

This month's Gecko Galz Monthly Image Challenge is a delightful vintage photo in purple hues.

I popped her in my Coffee stained Journal and added a sassy saying from one of my Michelle Grant Designs files.

I forgot I had done last month's but not posted so I will show you that one tomorrow.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

It's a Mystery ATC Swap

Have to love an ATC Swap right!

I joined in this month with Gecko Galz It's a Mystery Swap - I showed you the 3 I made for the Facebook Page Challenge, and now my other 3 have been received, I can show you them as well.

So I also added some extra's in.
You would know I love my Jaded Blossom Coffee Cup Slider Card die from previous posts, so it should be no surprise that I used it here for some trim to go onto.
I decided the little paper bags would be fun to decorate to put the trim into for a change.
Another Gecko Galz image from the Lovely Little Girl sheet and some lace.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Never More Designs Gothic Challenge

This month's Challenge Image over at Never More Designs Gothic Image Challenge is a  little bit different this month.....it's a fun skeleton image.

Such a fun image to play with.
I did another page in my Coffee Stained journal.
This time I looked up a quote to use and then grabbed some images and made a little collage and typed the quote in.
I love that the skeleton and the skull at looking at each other!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

#jjec 69 Bingo / Tag

I am slowly catching up on my Junk Journal prompts - 5 more after this to be back on time....
This one is bingo / tag.

So here I am mixing and matching again.
I used 2 pages from a Vectoria Designs file along with my bingo card from TLCreates Vintage.
I think they work very well together.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Perspective

Here is my Junk Journal layout for the Perspective Challenge over with Michelle's Creative Warriors.

Using Michelle Grant Design's Perspective files, I printed the collage sheet on tissue paper and adhered to my right page. I used black and white gesso first to line my page.

My sketch I have used the black Aquarellable pencil with a aqua water brush on my brown wrapping paper page. I also used a black uni-pen to write my little journal of what was going through my mind.

"Nothing is black and white anymore!
The world has changed forever and
will never be the same as it was!
Breathe, Be Kind, Love yourself!"

I like the girl trapped in the eye and filling the page, as working in aged care, we have to wear these masks all the time and it must be so scary for a lot of the elderly not having family visiting and us with our masks on and at times face shields as well telling trying to do their cares and assist them. I think we should have a party when we can not have to wear these. In addition, we are all double vaccinated and still under same restrictions as when it first started and no-one was. Anyway, that's a conversation for another day!

I made this junk journal in March last year and put two signatures in it - this is now the first one finished! Feels good, and hopefully won't take as long to do the next one.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

#jjec 68 Camping / Journaling card

So camping / journaling card is the next prompt......

I found two great camping images in my files from TLCreates Vintage and decided to use the canoe one as a tuck spot, and the campsite one for my journaling card.
I used one of my printables from Red Dot Books and Printables as my card and adhered my image on top.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

#jjec 67 Typewriter / Page corner

Today we have the prompt of Typewriter / Page corner.

I went through my digital files and came up with a great image with a typewriter on it from Curious Minds by Red Dot Books and Printables. I trimmed it and used it as my Page corner tuck spot.
I used a page from an old Asian book I have in my stash. Being that there is no English whatsoever in/on it, I can't tell you the name or country it's from, but it is the perfect size to add to my smaller projects.
I grabbed another printable from Red Dot Books and Printables to tuck in to the page corner.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Old page art

I recently got into the habit of wiping off my stencils, etc onto an old book page.
So here is one I had sitting aside with a bit of green ink and modelling paste wiped over.
What a great chapter heading!

I grabbed a few of my distress inks and rubbed over the paste image.
I love how this turned out, sort of like its melted.
Not sure how I will end up using this page, but I am sure I will find a use for it in one of my Junk Journals for sure.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

#jjec 66 Beach Pocket

The prompt for this one is Beach / Pocket.

I decided to use a used small treat bag as my pocket.
Grabbing the wind type stencil from La-La Land Crafts It's Snowing layering stencil, I used my distress inks for my background.
I then adhered my image from Gecko Galz Summer Splashdown Kit Club 2021 files.
Then I adhered it onto my page and popped in an image from Red Dot Books and Printables.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Wicked Witches Loaded Pocket

I made a loaded pocket for some Halloween Tags using the Wicked Witches Union Membership Card
ATC file and the Something Wicked #1 Digital Papers. Both are by Ephemoire.

I sponged the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and added some ribbons from my stash.
Halloween isn't that far away from us now at all is it!

This perfect for Septembers This is Halloween Challenge .

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Tigger

So today isn't craft related, it's fur baby related!

We have officially adopted an ex-racing Greyhound.
She is such a quirky girl and still young, not quite 2 years old, so we will get to spend a lot of time with her and spoil her to bits.

It's almost like you are looking at 2 different dogs when you see her in the sun and in the shade!
Tigger is the right name for her as she is orange and black (in the sun), and she does hop about when she is excited!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

#jjec 65 Travel / Envelope

Wow......I have missed quite a few of these - I was pretty good and had gotten up to #64, so this is next in line #65 which was July 9th...surprisingly, I am only 9 behind!
Another project to play catch up with.....

So here we have my Travel page which is a map of Australia, obliviously! that I ripped out of a travel book - I have highlighted the places I have either lived or spent time in on holidays. I had to trim the page so Tasmania misses out again - I did live there in Swansea as a toddler.

My envelope is a printable from TLCreates Vintage and I thought was just perfect for this project.
The clip is a hairclip I got with a Steampunk necklace purchase from a local company called Steampunk Witch Creations.

Ok then, some more to be looking at getting done.
This little book is now quite chunky and I've actually cut the cover away and split ready to piece it all together once I have completed this year long Challenge.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

More moulds

Ohhhhh got a couple more moulds to have a play with!

I got Finnabair's Flower Queen mould and Prima's My Sweet mould.
I also got some of Ranger's Quick Cure Clay to try out as well.
It is set using your heat gun, so you don't have to wait hours for it to dry.

Well, lol, that was half a success!
I say half, because the handles of the scissors did not work - that is just a matter of learning to mould the clay better....practise!
I am impressed though, the detail is amazing!

So now I paint up and then grab my waxes and have a go - or paints, or whatever I guess.
I will blog them when I have them done.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

It's a Mystery

Such a fun ATC Swap & Challenge over at Gecko Galz this month.
It's called It's a Mystery - Sherlock Holmes themed.

Here is the 3 I made for the Challenge on the Facebook page.

I can't show you the other set of 3 until my swap partner gets them.

I used the free ATC kit files and only had to type up a couple of quotes - lol, I am not much of a Sherlock fan I am afraid so I look forward to seeing the ones from everyone else.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Christmas pocket

You know when you see something advertised and think how good would that be.......well I saw this handy little sewing gadget that says for crafting, etc so thought I'd give it a go.  I mean $12.99  from Aldi is worth the try and if it works well it will save dragging out the big machine each time right.....

What a waste of money!
I am sure somebody can get this thing to create a half decent sew, but not me....3 goes and this is the last attempt and leaving it....

Oh, and it is only one thread.....so you have to be careful as it just unravels if you don't have a good hand on it releasing from the gadget.....hmmmmm I shall stick with getting the big machine out when I feel the urge to sew on my craft projects!

My image is a freebie from TLCreates Vintage. I have to say that although it was a flop, I like the look of it as it kinda has a more authentic vintage feel to it......or so I tell myself.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Merry Christmas

I decided this month's Gecko Galz Christmas Image Challenge would make a great layered Christmas Card.

A super cute bird to work with this month.
Firstly I printed and then distressed the edges of my image.
Then I got my Jaded Blossom dies out and cut my card matts in red and vanilla card stock.
My La-la Land Crafts Christmas Wreath die and got my wreath, bells and bow cut.
Next my Uniquely Creative Christmas cut apart sheet and die for the sentiment.
Then it was just a matter of finding the right positioning and then sticking it all down onto my textured vanilla cardstock base.

What do you think?

I am entering the following Challenges:

Mark Making

My next prompt is Mark Making for #MondayPromptProject.

Pretty quick and easy one today after work.

Grabbed my journal and my Neo II crayons along with my aqua water brush.

I had some fun just making my marks and then adding the water brush to make them pop.
Not the most inventive, but was very relaxing.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Escape the Ordinary

This month's Steampunk image for the Gecko Galz Steampunk Challenge is just too cute!

I sponged the edges of the image and sentiment with Vintage Photo distress inks and then I added gold flakes in randomish (is that a word even) places to  give a grungy richness feel.
I then adhered my image onto my card base, some cogs painted with copper paint and lastly my sentiment.
My sentiment is from Stamperia's Collectables Voyages Fantastiques sheets.

She is so cute!

I am entering her in the following Challeges:

Botanical

I'm on a roll with my #MondayPromptProject catch up!

LOL, now that I say it I probably won't do anymore for a week or two!

Next on my list is Botanical, and I watched the video and then got to drawing.

I used my Black Aquarellable pencil with a aqua water brush.
Grabbed my Neo II Crayons and got my background down.
My Botanical is flower stickers from my planner stash - these are from Planners Anonymous.
Quite peaceful I think.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Covid Crazy Madness Bonkers

My next prompt for #MondayPromptProject is Drips/Splatter ....

I have to admit that this one took a different direction while I was waiting for the inks to dry.
I was looking for some printed sayings to use with a die cut silhouette I cut to use - ok, I had 3 cut but still needed to see if I had a suitable saying for any of them.
Well I came across this image from the Covid files by Michelle Grant Designs, and being that I printed it on tissue paper, loved the colours coming through. I did pop some white acrylic paint on her face and neck to keep the colours peeking through.
I then found from another of her files, some wordings I had printed on rice paper.
Perfect!
I absolutely love how she turned out!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Friday 3 September 2021

Embellishments

I decided I wanted to try my hand at making some embellishments ..... lol, not for you if you want it now.
It is a time process that is for sure.
I admit I watched a few videos and thought I got this.....no, not got this.
Watched some more videos, paid attention, and now I think I do have it. Well enough to make a start and be happy with the results!

So first up is the process of clay into mould and allowing to dry - yep, 24- 48 hours (air drying clay).
Then tidying them up and a coat of black gesso - haha, I made a start and then remembered I needed to take a photo!

This mould set is called Luxembourg Hardware and is made by Prima Marketing.
The next step is rub my Fnnabair Waxes on them.

Ok, that's pretty good for a first start - what I did learn was that a little does indeed go a looooong way!
Guess I need to get some other colours and moulds!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Space/Galaxy

Ok, another month of trying to blog everyday ...... I failed it last time, got close (I think) but not everyday.

I started this Space/Galaxy prompt 2 days ago for #MondayPromptProject - yes, it's taken me 3 days to do it, but I did have the interruption of work.
Not complaining with so many in lockdown and not having jobs to go to.

I sketched my funky moon and astronaut first, then got some water inks out and created my galaxy.
Then some acrylic paints for my moon and astronaut. My black Aquarellable pencil for shading and all done.
I love how it turned out - only another 10 or so prompts to catch up!

So all going well, I will check in tomorrow with something to share......

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!
