Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 16 - Passion, Ruby, Chipboard.
#cwjjj16

I mixed a Red and a Violet Purple to get my Ruby Red paint.
I then painted my half doily in my Junk Journal, because that's the next page, and added a girl from Tammy's Bonkers Pack.
My two chipboard hearts are from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and I painted them with the same mixture.
My saying is from Michelle Grant's Purpose Pack.
My passion is clearly my craft as that page was very fiddly, and you can see I broke part of the doily in the creation.

So, I then did the next prompt and we are in the middle of my signature, so I got to play with the whole doily!

Junk Journal July 2022, 17 - Let it go Or Embrace, Turquoise, Tissue paper/Deli paper.
#cwjjj17

This time my napkin had the tourquoise strip that matched my Neo II crayon perfectly so I was able to colour my doily and blend in to my napkin reasonably well.
My image is from Michelle Grant's Crowned pack.
I decided to write my saying and mix the lettering.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 15 - Courage, Emerald, Pattern Paper.
#cwjjj15

I used a piece of Background patterned paper by Tanya Froud, along with an image from Michelle Grant's Peace files.
I grabbed out my Neo II crayons and used the Emerald Green around the edges on onto my image.
My saying I wrote around the back edge.
"Have the COURAGE of your convictions"
That has real meaning to me at the moment and a timely reminder.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 14 - Focus, White, Doily.
#cwjjj14

My words are from Michelle Grant's "Covid" file.
Focus would be good if I knew what to focus on, which is why I chose this saying - I love it and so apt at the moment.
My doily is white, as are my die cuts from some Art by Marlene die I bought the other week.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Pretty in Green

Are you ready for a new month's Challenge over at Arty Divas Challenge Blog.

This month's theme as always is "Anything Goes", doesn't get any easier than that does it!

This month we are playing with Pretty in Green and Vintage Green Paper by our resident sponsor Lilli Rain Designs.

I made a card and a tag bookmark this month.

Both projects are easy to make, just grab your lace stash out and have a go.

The tag ends for my tag bookmark are using Uniquely Creatives Tags, Tops 'N' Tails die, and I used a decorative flower die on the bottom to hide the hole. A piece of ribbon in the top hole and a beautiful bookmark to give as a gift, or use yourself.
I have to say that I love that coppery lace, it is one continuous design which I snipped two pieces off for either end and adhered down.

Now you have seen what I have done, it's your turn! I look forward to seeing your entry in our Challenges.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 13 - Betrayal or Trust, Mahogany, Gel Print or Paint your own paper.
#cwjjj13

The next page in my Junk Journal was already half painted with red and blue strips, so I added some stamping with Aged Mahogany Distress ink and brushed it around a bit on my page.

My image and words are from Michelle Grant's Expressions file. I have also run the edges of the image and words around the ink pad to add a bit of Mahogany on them too.
Lol, it so reminded my of the Yellow Pages ad years ago, so that is my take on the betrayal/trust side of the prompt.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 12 - Breathe - Inhale/Exhale, Blue Monochromatic, Tags.
#cwjjj12

I have used Stormy Sky, Weathered Wood and Peacock Feathers Distress inks for my Blue Monochromatic background on both my junk journal page and my book paper tags.

My image and words are from Michelle Grant's Breathe file.
Lol, I had both Inhale and Exhale, but somewhere in my clutter, I lost exhale! So I used Breathe as a replacement....and yes, I did inhale, exhale and breathe!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 11 - Joy, Sunshine Yellow, Acetate.
#cwjjj11

I have used a cheap Aldi acrylic paint for my background.
I then coloured some of the feathers from Tammy Klingner's Creative Warriors Collab#1 Find your Wild pack with my Faber Castell pencils. After I fussy cut them out, I adhered them and used one of Tim Holtz acetate Butterflies to have them appear like a bouquet on my page.
My Joy word is Letter stickers from a Art by Marlene quote book.

I do get a lot of Joy creating in my Junk Journal, nothing you do is wrong and it is a great way to learn by playing with all those bits and pieces from previous classes/retreats that you have still have lying around your craft space.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Coffee Cup Shaker Dangle

This month's Sparkles Monthly Challenges #154 is a Shaker Card / Creation.

This month I made a Coffee Cup Shaker Dangle for my TN Crafty Brain Dump Planner.

I grabbed my Jaded Blossom Coffee Dies and some foam tape and set about creating my Shaker Cup.
I then though I'd use a couple of smaller dies and pop them on the side in coordinating cardstock.
I used some Craft Sprinkles by Uniquely Creative as my confetti to shake.

A lot of fun to make and I Love it!

I look forward to seeing your take on the theme.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 10 - Journey, Teal, Fabric.
#cwjjj10

I love having some inspirational quotes in my journals and here is another one.

I used a background on tissue paper from Cindy Porter's Creative Warriors Collab#1 Building Possibilities. It has a great blue background with rainbows on it. Hard to see I know.
My quote is from Michelle Grant's Crowned file.
My bit of torn fabric with a wooden heart I coloured with Teal acrylic paint in the bottom corner and I also used the paint brush to pop some Teal markings off the heart as well.

I believe this quote is a journey we all can take in life no matter who we are or where we come from.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Bon Voyage #10dayartchallenge

Day 3 of #10dayartchallenge

Day 3 already! A card for a change.
I have used my new Tim Holtz 3D embossing folder for my steampunk background in grey.
My image is from the Gentlemans Club pdf by Gecko Galz and is great for those male cards.
Some sponging with Vintage Photo distress ink and a saying from Uniquely Creatives cut-a-parts.

I have entered this guy into the Steampunk ATG challenge over on the Gecko Galz Facebook page this month.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022 / #10dayartchallenge

Junk Journal July 2022, 09 - Believe, Silver, ATC card & Pocket.
#cwjjj09

I thought that seeing as I was making an ATC for this day as well as doing my junk journal page, I would use the atc for my #10dayartchallenge.

My ATC background card is a collage page I made and cut up to different sizes a few months back and just have sitting on my desk for when inspiration hits......I have used one of the girl faces from Michelle Grant's Silent file, and coloured with my Faber Castell pencils.
I added a scrap of patterned paper sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink behind her to help ground her to the background so she didn't blend in too much.
The saying is from the same file and I distressed the edges and sponged them as well.

My junk journal page I have added a piece of the Shakespeare page I ripped out a few days ago and cut it for my pocket. I stamped "Believe" an other strip of it and cut to size. To help the words stand out, and to get my Silver, I grabbed the Alfoil roll from the kitchen and got a bit to size. Before I adhered it down, I scrunched it up and then flattened it but retained some of the texture with it. I then adhered it onto the pocket and then the word strip.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Be Brave #10dayartchallenge

I was invited over on Instagram to take part in the #10dayartchallenge by one of the lovely ladies that follows me, and I follow her back as well.

Anyway, I don't normally take up the challenges, but I decided this time I would give it a go, like I have nothing else to do right! LOL, I love to create, what can I say.

So here is my Day 1.

It is another altered playing card for my collection - no theme or prompt for this one.

The lovely image I used is from Gecko Galz September 2021 Newsletter, September Glory.
Such a lovely vintage image.
My saying is a sticker quote from Art by Marlene.

While we don't hear too much about the war going on in Ukraine lately, it is still in all our minds and the loss of lives still continuing is hard to fathom in today's world.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 08 - Authentic, Orange, Recycle a Greeting card.
#cwjjj08

I enjoyed using my water paints yesterday, so thought I would make an Orange wash with my Yellow Dedium and Indian Red by Elena Art Pages. They are such beautiful handmade pallets, I love using them. So this is my background.

I then coloured up my Earth Angel image with my Faber Castell pencils and then fussy cut her.
She is from Karen Yate's Creative Warriors Collab#1 Earth Angel. The phrase is a bonus sheet Karen gave us during the Virtual Retreat.
I recycled the "Oh My!" from a birthday card. I thought it worked with "Kinda Sweet, Kinda Savage".
I think this is the Authentic me!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 38 Turquoise

Next card # 38 - Turquoise.

Week 6 Theme is: Neutral elements, Rust, Dye, Thread & Stitching.

I used all Art by Marlene products on this one.
Tuscan & Sand acrylic paint with Bold & Bright stencil.
Then die cuts. I cut the turquoise flower in half for placement and my arched border I cut into 3, again for placement. I also added some lines on them with my white gel pen just to make them pop a little bit.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 07 - Shame/Guilt or Proud, Paynes Grey, Graph paper/grids.
#cwjjj07

I decided to have a play with my water paints for a change.
So to make my Paynes Grey, I mixed my Ultramarine Blue by Elena Art Pages, with a Black from the Complexion set by Prima. I then used this as my background.

I then coloured up my Frida image and roses with my Faber Castell pencils and then fussy cut them.
They are from  Lorri Lennox's Creative Warriors Collab#1 Frida Power, along with the saying.
After adhering them all down, I realised I had not used any graph paper!
So I got that out and used one of my Art by Marlene mini dies from the 2021 Advent Calendar and cut it into a few pieces that would fit and not look like an add on!

It is turning into a fun little junk journal.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 06 - Harmony, Aqua, Gift Wrapping paper.
#cwjjj06

I still have this cute Christmas Paper Wrapping so it was ideal to use.
I used a Harmonizing colour to Aqua which happens to be red so it ticked that box too!.
My aqua is my patterned paper that I stamped on with one of Michelle Grant Design stamps for Bee Arty.
My trailing leaves if on tissue paper and is from Kylie Trout's Creative Warriors Collab#1 The Story Begins 3.

A fun little journal page.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 37 Gelato

Next card # 37 - Gelato.

Week 6 Theme is: Neutral elements, Rust, Dye, Thread & Stitching.

I used 4 different gelato's, and some black acrylic paint watered down for my splashes.
My die cut and quote are by Art by Marlene.

I really love how this one turned out!
I know quite a few people at that Bus Stop! Just sayin'.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Junk Journal July 2022, 05 - Soulful, Yellow, Book paper.

#cwjjj05

I kept this one pretty simple and quick.

I grabbed an old Shakespeare Book and tore one of the pages out and then down to size for my little junk journal page. I could have used one of the other pages as I have book pages in here, but I figured I would just continue from page one to the end. You may have also noticed that I am only doing single page spreads as well. That is so I just need the one signature.

Anyways, I adhered my torn page onto my junk journal page and then added some yellow acrylic paint. Not that it matters, but I did this with a spatula, lol, I did say quick, so I just needed to wipe over the blade instead of cleaning a brush!

My Soulful part is the quote from Karen Yates Karama pack.

Sometimes you just need some paint on a page an a meaningful quote rather than all the embellishments taking focus off your meaning.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 36 Mysterious

Next card # 36 - Mysterious.

Week 6 Theme is: Neutral elements, Rust, Dye, Thread & Stitching.

Well that break didn't last long! 3 more and I will be back up to date....

While I was waiting for the distress ink to dry, I did another of the Junk Journal pages, so that is actually good as I can work on both at the same time.

This was pretty quick to create really - I used my Visible Image Dark Hearts stencil along with Black Soot and Stormy Skys distress inks, spritzed with water for my background.
Then I just had to trim out one of the cards on my page from Stamperia's Alice Paper Pack.
I did sponge the edges of the card and the ICAD with Black Soot distress ink as well.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

Here are the next two pages for Junk Journal July 2022.

#CWJJJ03

 #CWJJJ04

First one I have used Art by Marlene Acrylic Paint with a Paper Roses Stencil. My girl and saying is from Lorri Lennox's Tweetheart file and coloured with Faber-Castell pencils. A piece of lace from my stash.

My second one I used some strips of my glossy paper I played with alcohol inks on as my "Magical" aspect, along with the fact that my junk journal page is only 4 3/4 x 2 1/4 inches. My bird and saying is from Lorri Lennox's Tweetheart file as well, and coloured with Faber-Castell pencils. My purple flowers is my napkin that I used.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Junk Journal July 2022

I managed to keep up and do 35 of the 61 ICAD this year and felt like I needed a break - I will finish them off but at my pace now and not to a schedule.

For a little change I have switched to the Junk Journal July challenge on the Creative Warriors page.
Now I started late, and won't be keeping up with this one either (we will see), but I do like the idea of using my mini junk journal I made early on in the year at the Creative Warriors Virtual Retreat.

Anyways, here's the Canvas Cover I created and the first two pages.

Front Cover

Inside with Mini Junk Journal

#CWJJJ01

 #CWJJJ02

My journal size is 5 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches, so a cute handy size.

My Canvas Cover uses Fi Gains' Creative Warriors Collab #1 Background Thank the Trees and saying from Kylie Trout's Creative Warriors Collab#1 The Story Begins 3. Stamps by Bee Arty and Stampin Up with Archival Ink, and some shimmer sprays as well.

First one I have used Art by Marlene Acrylic Paints, Wendy Vecchi Stencil, and my girls face is from Creative Warriors Collab #1 Michelle's Release your Creativity file printed on tissue paper.

My second one I made a mini envelope from some patterend paper in my stash and my bird is from Lorri Lennox's Birdbrain file, coloured with Faber-Castell pencils. Background is using Gelatos,

Wanderlust

Have you entered this month's Customer Challenge over at Gecko Galz yet?
The theme is Wanderlust.

This month I decided to do a Journal page in my Junk Journal. I have finished the first signature and have a few layouts in this second signature. This is the front page so a good one for a single page layout.

I used the Great Journey's Collage Sheet by Gecko Galz for my images.
I sponged all edges with Vintage Photo distress ink - as I do!.
My page is a mop up page from my Geli Plate that I used last month for one of my ICAD's. It is a part of the Seoul Subway Map from the mini Visiting East Asia magazine that I used and is appropriate for our Challenge this month.
My saying is a sticker from my Happy Planner Quotes Sticker Book.

I hope I have inspired you, and now it's your turn to show me what you can do this month - you have until the 29th to get your entry blogged and onto the blog page. Why not try an image from the Newsletter freebies as well.
It really is worth the try to have some fun and maybe win $25 to spend in the store along your way!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 34 Rooster

Next card # 34 - Rooster

Week 5 Theme is: Working in series with a continuing theme or constraint.

Ok so here is the card I was supposed to make yesterday - no real concern really. I am surprised I am still actually doing them to be honest!
This one was a really quick one as I had did it before enjoying a lovely quite day away (all be it a wet day) with my hubby for our 25th Wedding Anniversary.

So this one is the mop up card from #33 Quatrefoil. I quite like the scratchy look and thought Tim Holtz Crazy Cats/Birds stamp set was perfect, plus they probably would have eaten the rooster that I can't find!
I stamped it on my card and then coloured with a couple of shades of orange pencils as I didn't want him to stand out too much, but just enough.
Then I wrote my saying with a black gel pen.

Back to the correct numbers and prompts again so will see what happens tomorrow, maybe I will give them a break and do something else for this month. 61 days is ok if that's all you do I guess.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Monday, 4 July 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 35 Yellow

Next card # 35 - Yellow.

Week 5 Theme is: Working in series with a continuing theme or constraint.

Ok, so I did a quick look and saw "Yellow" so off I went. Took the photo and then realised that is tomorrow's prompt....arggggggh.
So, so as not to confuse myself down the track, I decided to just go with it and post it under it's correct number, and then tomorrow, I will do day 34 and a rooster! Only a problem to anyone that is pedantic about it, and that's not me!

So anyway, I used a mop up card from early on , I can't even remember this one to be honest. Grabbed my Modeling Paste and Mandala Stencil 18210 by Paper Roses. I used my cheapie Yellow and Green paint mixed with the modeling paste so it had colour.
Once dry, I added a quote by Art by Marlene.

See you tomorrow with my Rooster, if I can find a rooster to use that is!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Wonderland Bingo

This month I have gone on a different tack to my normal projects.

For my projects I used the Whimsical Jewels  (Wonderland Domino's) and the Wonderland Bingo card from Bingo Digital Collage.

On my necklace, after I adhered the Alice image, I then pour on a heap of Glossy Accents and let it set. There are some air bubbles there but I am ok with that. It is for myself and I think it adds some interest to it as well.

Before I applied the falling Alice to my Domino, I sponged the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink.

I hope you like them and are inspired to join in on one of our many challenges this month.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Sunday, 3 July 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 33 Quatrefoil

Next card # 33 - Quatrefoil or Ogee.

Week 5 Theme is: Working in series with a continuing theme or constraint.

I really like this one I must say.

I used the Calm set of acrylic paints by Art by Marlene through a Quatrefoil stencil I have - the brand I am unsure of, it's a black 8x8 one. I generally have them all in a 12x12 plastic scrapbook container so unless it's marked, or I actually still have it in it's packaging, I have no idea.

Again, the quote is Art by Marlene......yes, I am starting to really like her products and have started to go to them first now.

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Saturday, 2 July 2022

ICAD 2022 - # 32 Sky

Next card # 32 - Sky

Week 5 Theme is: Working in series with a continuing theme or constraint.

If creating your ICAD last minute is "working in series with a continuing theme" fits, then I'm all over it!
Again, no real motivation tonight, but I got it done!

I used a stencil from Bee Arty by Michelle Grant Designs along with distress oxide inks and distress inks. then spritzed with water for that night time sky look.
My saying is a sticker from one of my Art by Marlene Quote books.

I had a lovely afternoon as my daughter decided to call in for coffee bearing donuts! Hubby and I went out for dinner and then home to watch my Rugby League team win their game (Go the Cowboys!)....best Saturday I have had in while!

See you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Freaky Ladies

A new month, so a new challenge starting over at This is Halloween.

This is Halloween is a Halloween and/or Gothic themed Monthly Challenge.
So both themes are accepted all year round when stated!

This month I decided to make a set of ATC cards.

I used the file Freaky Ladies by itKuPiLLi, which I bought back in 2019. And we all know what was happening back then!
(I am making a huge effort to use my existing supplies in my craft room, and use some of the many many files I have bought over the years. It is amazing what I am finding!)

After the fussy cutting was done, I sponged all edges with Black Soot distress ink.
Hard to tell, but on the first one, I did apply some  Art Alchemy Green-Gold Opal Magic to give it a bit of a gold shine to it.

Hope you get a chance to play along with us - enter here.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

ICAD 2022 - # 31 Postmark

Next card # 31 - Postmark.

Week 5 Theme is: Working in series with a continuing theme or constraint.

I almost didn't do today's ICAD as I came home from work feeling really tired and almost nodded off in front of the tv!

Anyway, I managed to do a collage with IndigoBlu papers from a Mixed Media Bundle.
After I dried it with my heat gun, I then used the Postmark stamp I got from the op shop the other week in that bundle of stamps and stamped it a few times.
Then my script text stamp from Uniquely Creative and Watermark Stamp set from Bee Arty.

We are at the half way mark! I only did the first 21 last year, so I am ahead already. I can also say that this year I am more creative and these ones are much better - so again, that's a positive.

Hopefully see you tomorrow!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Conjurer of Dreams Inspiration # 4

My inspiration projects for Conjurer of Dreams this month is using Grumpy Santa on Vacay  for my first Junk Journal page and card, and then ...
