12 Days of Christmas

Yay, made it! I actually did each day on the day and kept it up!

I used an assortment of images from Gecko Galz Altered Christmas and Beautiful Christmas collage sheets, plus a few from my stash from swap gifts.

I have so much fun with these index cards, I hope you have enjoyed them too.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas

Day 11 already!

Such a busy day today in our household, plus afternoon shift as well!

Did the last of the Christmas food shop, got my booster needle and soon afternoon shift.
I am so ready for Boxing Day and having a day off!

I wanted to get this one done before I ran out of time, as no telling how I will feel when I get home tonight.

I used my mop up index card from Day 2.
My Wine Time saying is from Art by Marlene's So-Fish-Ticated Paper Elements pack (lucky it arrived this morning!).
The cocktail is cut from a P&O Brochure - oh to be cruising again!
And the Christmas Coffee cups and saying is from a craft swap with my crafty girlfriend.

See you tomorrow, wonder what our last one will be!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas

Day 10  - not long now until the fat man arrives!

Not going to lie - this is my third attempt at this.

My first go wasn't too bad, my second, is in the bin and this is my third.
I have to say that the Christmas Script Stencil I used is a bitch to use...I have had it for a few years now and realise why I have never used it before. It was a gift to me so I had to use it eventually right.

Anyways, it ended up ok in the end....

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas

Day 9 is all about Trees, Trees, Trees and more Trees!

Mixed Media happening here,.

I used an index card that I had wiped some excess acrylic paint onto a few months back.
I grabbed some trees from last years napkins and used my matt medium to adhere - I have 8 trees over 3 layers.
I then used my Christmas Dies from Jaded Blossom and die cut 4 Christmas Trees - 2 sizes of both and adhered onto my card.
Then using my Neo II crayons and an aqua brush, I outlined my Christmas Trees.
Hard to tell but I used a glue stick and wiped over some gold flakes onto my trees for a bit of shine.
Lastly I added a sentiment from a Uniquely Creatives Cut-a-part.

I love the grungy feel to it.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Merry Little Xmas Jewels Mini Bookmarks

Just for fun, I created these mini bookmarks using the Merry Little Christmas Slides Jewel It  pdf's from Gecko Galz.

How cute are they!
The backing card stock measures 3 1/ inches x 1 1/2 inches.
I did sponged the image edges with Vintage Photo distress ink before I adhered them down.
I gave them to my resident's that attended my seated exercises activity this morning and they loved them.....lol, only one asked to go through them all to pick one. There is always one isn't there!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas

12 Days of Christmas and here is Day 8.

I love that Gnome for the Gecko Galz Gnome for the Holidays ATC Swap we did last month.
I fussy cut him out and was waiting for the right project to put him on.
My wrapped parcel is from the RACQ Mail out sheet.
Bow and saying is from Uniquely Creative's Holly Jolly Christmas Title cut-a-parts.

Only 4 more to go!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas

Day 7 of 12 Days of Christmas ..... almost didn't get today's done, lol I was to busy doing something else I thought of!
But I did get it done, a bit of inky finger therapy!

I went with the bright Neon Acrylic paints by Art by Marlene. Pretty well figured that would nail the "Bright" part of it! Nearly wore the orange and the purple!
I then went for the "Nice" part on the theme using as image by Gekco Galz from the Altered Christmas Collage sheet.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Very Vintage Christmas

Hello again, 25 Tags of Christmas is still going and here is my 2nd Tag for you to create.

I chose a wonderful pastel/faded type Santa image form the Very Vintage Christmas Collage sheet along with one of the background images from the Christmas in Nature ATC Set . I then printed them on 160 GSM White premium digital paper.

I gathered a few things from my stash to get an idea of the type of tag I wanted to create.

I decided to make a start with vintage music sheet page. My thinking here is to make a vintage Christmas tag. I turned the page over and glued each side half way in so it made a strip for my tag without having a blank edge. I then adhered this onto a piece of black cardstock (no reason except it was laying around) to use as a backing to strengthen my tag. Then I used one of my tag dies and die cut the tag. Using my Vintage Photo distress ink, I sponged around my edges.

Having a play with placement of items from my stash, I decide to distress the edges of my images and sponge with the Vintage Photo distress ink. Now it is starting to look a bit more vintage. At this stage it’s a matter of playing with placement again and picking out what to finish it with.

I adhered my background image with liquid glue (use your preferred medium) and the adhered the pale blue lace at the bottom of my tag. Then using the same designed lace I adhered the pale pink on top with a touch of blue showing.

Using foam dots and foam strip, I adhered my Santa inspired image. Next I used some glittery red thread and tied a bow in my wooden button and then adhered to the tag.

Lastly, I added some cream lace ribbon to the eye of my tag.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas

Day 6 and we are half way there!
Scary that this time next week Christmas Day will be half over as well!

My image and words are from Gecko Galz Gnome for the Holidays Collage Set.
My background is the mopped up leftovers from Day 2's sprays on  the index card.
Goes to show that you don't need a lot of time to craft everyday.
Wonder what tomorrow will bring......

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas

Day 4 is here .....

I have to say, I am loving this Day 4 Index card!
The index card is a spare I made for Day one, and then the present and gum leaves and gumnuts are from the flyer for the RACQ Magazine!
Oh My!!! I saw it and went "now that is just right for a journal page of sorts!".
Well, perfect for my Day 4 card for sure!
The little gift tag is from a Uniquely Creative Cut-a-part.

12 Days of Christmas

Day 3 of 12 Days of Christmas and another Index card for you.

Oh yeah, nailed it!
This sums up how I feel at the moment.
so my versamark pen that I'd have years, literally, sort of broken up as I used it on my string of light - stencil by Bee Arty called Party Lights.
I think the shimmer paints don't really like being embossed on....
My stamps of sayings and tangled string of lights is from Jaded Blossom called Bah Humbug 3.
But had fun finishing it off tonight's  afternoon shift it's been a long day!

So Nailed it! was appropriate, but I did get it done on Day 3 so that's what counts.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas

Day 2 of 12 Days of Christmas with Hillbilly Shenanigans.

Again, more Shimmer spray!
This time Perfect Pearls Mist - Grape Fizz and Turquoise with Hero Arts - Metallic Blueberry.
Baubles are fussy cut from 12 x 12 pattern paper in my stash (no idea) and flag tags are from Creative Uniquely Cut-a-part.

I think you can see some of that brilliant shimmer this time.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

12 Days of Christmas

There is a challenge thread over at Hillbilly Shenanigans for the 12 Days of Christmas.
While it is based on tags, you can create whatever you like,
I am chosing to create with Index Cards.

You should use Challenge and Theme....I don't have enough creative time each day to keep up with this so just the Challenge prompt will do me.
Loving these shimmer sprays - these are Kaiser Mists - Pink and then a shimmer Yellow with no label - I bought a bundle of preloved ones for a good price so am starting to use them.
You should see the shimmer on these! Truly gorgeous.
My Christmas Aussie Bauble images are from JLB Creative.

Never More Designs Gothic Challenge

I had some fun with this month's Challenge Image over at Never More Designs Gothic Image Challenge .

To be honest, I wasn't too sure what I was going to do with this great image this month.

Then I thought why not a wand ......

Once it was made, I needed something to hold it......look what happened!

Winter is Coming!!!!!!!!!
LOL, you know nothing Jon Snow. It's Summer in Australia!

Ok, so it is super simple to create, a straw, some feathers and some card stock that you score and fold and glue....that's it, not too hard.
Of course you may or may not have yourself a Game Of Thrones collection or two, three, so that is optional.

OMG I seriously had too much fun at the end of this project I have to tell you. You can bet now I will be looking to see what else I can use my collection for when I am creating.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Christmas Challenge

For the Gecko Galz Christmas Challenge this month, I made a lovely card that could also be used in winter....

Such a sweet image this month to use.
Using my Scalloped Rectangle dies from Jaded Blossom, I die cut my deep red matt for my image and adhered to the front of my white card base.
I got some wording stickers in a mystery box during the year and thought it would be nice at the bottom of the matt to use one.
I love how it ended up and I think it would cheer someone up on a cold winters day!

Gecko Galz Monthly Image Challenge

Can you believe it's almost Christmas time, 2 weeks, how did that happen!

This month's image for the Gecko Galz Monthly Image Challenge has a lovely Asian feel to it.
I had tossed around a few ideas in my mind and in the end, I fussy cut her out and decorated a book page double pocket tag with her.

I had made up this two pocket book page tag and just had to decide what to do with it.
I had to make our dog a cover for her bed so while I had the sewing machine out I sewed around the edge of the tag.

You know, some days it really is just looking at the clutter on your desk and picking something to use from there!
Oh, right, that could just be me!

I then decided to add some red glitter card stock as my background on the 3 backs, and after fussing cutting my girl away, I adhered her to the middle area.

All that was left was to decide on the first corner pocket - yep, googled snarky quotes and came up with this little pearl:
"If I can't kiss my ass, What makes you think I'm going to kiss yours?"
Love, love, love it!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gnomes at Home

I can show you the other 3 ATC's I made for the Gecko Galz November Gnome at Home ATC Swap now that my partner has received them.

Aren't they just the cutest!
I decided to added some dimension to 2 of them.
I fussy cut some of the mushroom heads and popped on foam dots, along with a few of the bubbles.

And this guy, I firstly fussed cut another mushroom, and then fussy cut him off his barrow and then added a few foam dots on top of each other to have his head further off the mushroom them his bottom.

I had a lot of Gnome fun with these guys.

December makes still in the process so stay tuned for them!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Steampunk Monthly Challenge

This month's Challenge Image over at Gecko Galz Steampunk Monthly Challenge is sooooo beautiful! A Steampunk Crow!

I love this image!
I wasn't sure what to create so left it for a few days and then decided a fun tag / bookmark was the road to travel.

I decided that I wanted to layer the wing to enhance the cogs ..... yes 6 layers in total!

I printed the image with the saying on it as one layer.
The saying is from Gecko Galz Words in Dark Collage Set.
I sponged the edges with Distress Ink and then set about fussy cutting my wing bits.
I used foam squares to mount them and then my Gold Wink of Stella Brush pen to add some highlights and shimmer when tilted.
Lastly I grabbed some black card stock and made my tag.
Adhered image and then some ribbon and lace from my stash to complete.

I am also entering the following Challenges:

Be Free

Here is my Day 3 Challenge for Hillbilly Scrappin' Virtual Retreat I had last weekend.

I love how it turned out in my junk journal.
3 Colours of background are Black, White with my choice of Rose Madder.
Then some brown paper and magazine collage on top.
Next came the lines and square with handrawn doodling. I used fluid black and white acrylic ink I poured into a fine tip bottle.
Lastly was the focal point being words. I chose be free.

I did manage to do a couple of the class layouts during the 3 days. Was a bit hard as I had work as well, but still fun and I learnt alot.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Merry Christmas Hornbag

So Day 2 Challenge at Hillbilly Scrappin' Virtual Retreat saw me able to use my new JLB Creative pdf's for Decembers Subscription......

Background is Gelatos - Iced Coffee, Iced Chai and Banana.
White Gesso with stencil I got in a Uniquely Creative Advent Kit (I think it was 2019's).
Script is from a Kaisercraft stamp with Jet Black Archival Ink.
Black and White rice paper scraps are printed with Michelle Grant Designs file.
Prompt of focal being Christmas-y, well when I saw what James had created as bonus sheet, I just had to print it and fussy cut Cath and Kim for my layout.

It was only a three day retreat, so I have one more to show you.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Holly and Ivy

Another new month - my goodness, December already!!!!!!

So this month our Customer Challenge is Holly and Ivy.

Here is my project I made using the Holly and Ivy Collage Sheet.

I made a double pocket folder to hold gift card for Christmas or of course ephemera for safe keeping!

I lined a piece of patterned paper with a book page and then glued my inside pocket tab down and then folded over and glued my top packet down.
Edged sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink (of course!).
I punched out two circles and used a brad for my closure with some red twine.
My sentiments are from a Uniquely Creative Cut-apart sheet.
And of course extra bling from some gold glitter washi tape.

I really love how this turned out so I am keeping her this time.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Beautiful Christmas Tag

As I mentioned yesterday, I am honored to be on the 2022 Gecko Galz Design Team.

So many talented ladies in the team, I hope I can inspire a few of you with my creations as well.

Today I want to share with you my tag for the the 25 Tags of Christmas Event.

I am using an image from the “Beautiful Christmas” collage sheet to create this tag.

How beautiful is that image of the cat looking up at Santa across the night sky! I printed the image on 160 GSM White premium digital paper.

Using one of my many Tag dies, I die cut a tag from black texture card stock. I know you can't tell by the picture, but you can in real life. I did also run the die size down over my image to give some stitching on it as well. I wasn't too concerned that it doesn't match fully.

I then adhered my image onto the tag using liquid glue.

Then using a glue stick, I ran it around the edges of my tag, not fully, but in places and then rubbed some gold flakes over to adhere and give a more vintage grungy look to it.

I then adhered a piece of cream lace and trimmed to fit my tag.

Lastly, a piece of black lace through the eyelet and it's ready to put on a gift.

And then I made a simple gift tag using another of the images from the same sheet.

I hope have inspired you to make some cards or tags for Christmas - there is always someone you forget to send one to!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Christmas Gnomes

Hello and welcome to my blog......I am honored to be on the 2022 Gecko Galz Design Team. So many talented ladies in the team, I hope I can inspire a few of you with my creations as well.

I have two projects to share today with it being my day to share my project, as well as my tag for the the 25 Tags of Christmas Event.

So first I will show you my projects for December that I created.

Ekkkk how stinkin' cute are these Gnomes!
They are from the new Christmas Gnome Stamps set.

I coloured up two images using my distress inks and my neon gel pens for the baubles and lights - I had so much fun that I decided to just use the neon gel pens with 2 glitter gel pens on the third Gnome that I also made into a tag.

The sentiments on my tags are from Jaded Blossom's Bah Humbug and Hero Arts CM405 - lol, it was a gift and does not have a title only that CM #.

I wanted to show you an ornament I made as well for the Card and Ornament swap we are doing.
I originally made this to send to my partner and took a photo, as you do, then placed it with others things I had made. When I got up in the morning, I wondered what was laying in the middle of my craft room floor - yes, my dog decided to chew it up overnight! Thankfully it was all she decided to destroy!
I have made a different ornament for my partner and sent off which I will show you once it arrives at it's overseas destination
.

I used one of the images from the HO HO HO collage sheet.
It turned out wonderful, or so I thought!

I hope have inspired you to make some cards or tags for Christmas - there is always someone you forget to send one to!

Come back later today and see my Tag for the 25 days of Christmas.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Pre Raphaelite Art Journal Page

I am currently attending the Hillbilly Scrappin' Virtual Retreat and Day 1's Challenge was:

1. Background using warm colours
2. Add collage with book pages.
3. Add marks of just triangles.
4. Add a picture or embellishment for focal point.

I enjoyed this very much.
My girl is from the Gecko Galz Pre Raphaelite Photos Digital Collage Set and the saying is from their Pre Raphaelite Junk Journal Digital Kit .
I used red, yellow and orange acrylic paints with a freebie stencil by Letter It and black acrylic paint.
I added some white gesso with a brayer to tone it down a bit.
Such a fun page!

I am entering her in the following Challenges:
