Feel Free

The next prompts are out for Full Deck Challenge 2.

Yellow, Glitter, Ribbon and a person.....here's my card.

So much fun playing!
I used my Dina Wakley Scribbly Circles stamp to create a fun background with Vintage Photo Distress ink on my playing card.
I then used a piece of pleated ribbon from my stash - retired Stampin Up.
Some gold glitter washi tape cause if you know me, I hate glitter as a rule so don't have any loose stuff in my craftroom!
I then used 3 die cuts from Art by Marlene from her new book out. I turned the saying on it's side and added the yellow heart to act like a balloon.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Never More Designs Gothic Challenge

Have you checked out this month's Challenge Image over at Never More Designs Gothic Image Challenge?

I ran out of time to do last month's and just getting this month's in with a few days to spare....so there is still time for you too!

So totally off the page this month.....I have been doing a Virtual Retreat this weekend, among other projects, so decided to use what was sitting on my desk.....

I made a tag from a funtime Distress Crayons practice page from a class I did this morning.
I thought this would look great on the brown paper bag that was to my left.
Added a flair button that was in one of the kits I have gotten over the years and was in a jar on my desk as well.
It is hard to tell but I printed the image twice and fussy cut the two ravens out and popped them up on foam dots.

Ok, so it has actually turned out great and I will be able to use it to hold some ephemera in and give away in a swap down the track......win win.

Hope to see what you do with the image.

Happiness

I am pleased to announce that I am now a part of the Sparkles Monthly Challenges Design Team.

So every month on the 15th, at this time, I will let you know what the new Challenge theme is and show you my inspiration project.

This month for our Challenge #151, the theme is Animal Print - use any animal that you like.

I love this!
I grabbed my small Art by Marlene Art Journal that come in the 2021 Advent Calendar and some distress inks.
I used a stencil from my stash that has the Zebra pattern (my favourite animal just happens to be the Zebra) and used Black Soot Distress Ink through it. I lined it up as best I could to get a complete pattern. I then added some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to blend it out of the page.
Next was using a pattern paper from Uniquely Creative called Wise & Free that was from the 2019 Advent Calendar and fussy cut the elements I wanted and layered them on top.. Yes I am partial to the odd Advent Calendar or two!

How wonderful to have a Challenge Blog that you can enter any type of craft in , as long as it follows the theme you are good to enter. I hope to see your Animal Prints project over on the blog soon.

Thinking of you ....

For the Gecko Galz Christmas Challenge this month, I made another card to add to my stash.

I got this Tim Holtz 3D embossing folder and was dying to see how it would look, so grabbed some dark brown cardstock out and ran it through my big shot.

What a fabulous outcome.
Soooooo with this months Christmas image sitting on my desk, I thought, why not????
I sponged the image edges with Walnut Stain distress ink and sat it on the embossing.
I think it looks great, so I popped some foam dots on her and adhered her right in the centre.
Not your traditional Christmas card, but I love it with the touch of Steampunk to it.

I am entering in the following Challenges as well:

Spring Muse

This month on the Gecko Galz Blog, the Monthly Stamp Challenge is a Technique Challenge using the supplied image - Spring Muse.

I decided to use the "Spotlight" technique.
This is where you highlight and focus on one area to "spotlight" as it were.
I sponged around the edge of my image with Black Soot distress ink, and then used a circle die and die cut around her face.
I used my BIC Intensity Pencils to colour in just this area.
I used a dark grey card base and added a strip of textured type lace to it.
I then added my image (without my spotlight) on top.
I then popped some foam dots on my muse's head and popped it carefully in place to line up.
A sentiment from my Uniquely Creative stash of cut-apart's to finish the card and all done.

I quite like how she turned out.
I hope you do too and have time to join in with us this month again.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Can you not?

A second round of Full Deck Challenge has started and this year there are prompts, etc to go by.

So I decided to give it a go and see how far I get.

I did the first one a few days ago and saw the 2nd one this morning so jumped on in and got it done!

The prompts for this one are:
Gold, Stencil & texture paste, Black splatter, Butterfly.

My image is from Gecko Galz Pixie Children.
I used Finnabair Texture Fantasy Paste - Taupe Rose and Fire Orange.
I can't recall the brand of my stencil, but its a large 8x8 mandala type one.
Black splatters with Speedball Super Black Ink.
I used my Nuvo Gilding Flakes for my Gold.
My saying is one of the stickers from the Dylusions Back Chat pack.

An Open Book ATC Challenge

Over on the Gecko Galz Facebook page we have another ATC Challenge happening.
We are having a break from the swaps for little bit as interest has fallen away - mainly due to the cost of postage and time taking to arrive..

Here is the set of 3 I created.

I used 3 of the background and fussy cut 3 of the images I thought would best suit.
I then grabbed my Tim Holtz sticker books out and got some sayings to go with them.
My first one "I have absolutely no desire to fit in" is from Small Talk and I used the Vintage Photo distress ink to blend it to fit in better.
The other two "Favourite Tales" and "A little bit of everything" are from Clippings Stickers.
To finish off, I used the Vintage Photo distress ink and went around all the ATC's edges.

Sparkling Spring Kids

Hard to think it's April already and Easter is just a few short weeks away!

I know this year just seems to be flying by already.
We have endured a lot in just a few short months, hard to believe it wasn't Christmas that long ago and we were all filled with hope for a better 2022!

On that note, here is my projects for Gecko Galz this month - a bit of snark always brings a smile to my face!

I started off by making some ATC's using the new Sparkling Spring Kids Collage.

I googled quotes, as I do, and came up with some great ones to use.

I then decided to add 4 others to a Happy Planner Pocket for my Planner.

I added a plaited ribbon that I had left over from my Butterfly Book Binding Card last month.
A lovely little butterfly charm, a patterned paper from my stash as the background to tie them all together, some washi tape to cover the gaps and then my "Laugh" woodchip because we all need to remember to have a laugh. I used distress inks and Gold Wink of Stella Brush with my white Gel pen on it to come up with a grungy mossy type look to it. LOL, works for me!

Anyway, after all the rain and floods here in Queensland, happy to say that the retainer wall between our house and our neighbours is now repaired (that is not cheap even when you only have to pay half!) so the fence no longer is shaped in a V and wondering if Tiggy will try to jump the side fence to get out through the missing soil area! My son and daughter-in-law lost power for around 8 days and could not get to work as they couldn't get out of their apartment building due to it being flooded through the foyer. Lucky they are on the 7th floor! We are all looking forward to some normalcy in our lives again now, whatever that is now!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Garden Child

This month's Customer Challenge over at Gecko Galz is Garden Child.

I decided to try making a shaker bookmark from an old window envelope.

I cut my envelope down to the size I wanted and used a page from Victorian Elegance Junk Journal Kit for my background in the window part.

I picked the lovely pastel sequin mix from my stash that has some gold butterfly's in it, and I added a white iridescent unicorn from another mix in my stash as well. Glued envelope together and made sure my shaker worked!

Then I grabbed an old book page to cover both the front and the back. The page is from the book the bookmark is sitting on. Added a bit of Old Vintage distress ink around the edges to give it a more vintage feel.

I then added my Garden Child - one of the images from last months Newsletter Freebie PDF, March Merryment. Some flowers from my stash up the top and punch a hole for a piece of decorative ribbon and we are all done.

I think it still has it's vintage charm to with, with a modern touch.

So now it's your turn to show me what you can do this month - you have until the 29th to get your entry blogged and onto the blog page. Why not try an image from the Newsletter freebies as well.
It really is worth the try to have some fun and maybe win $25 to spend in the store along your way!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!
