Wanderlust 2021 - Week 5

So much fun doing week 5 of Wanderlust this week!

This month our theme is Ephemera and Kasia was our teacher this week.

Such a fun page that brought a smile to me face after a tough week.

My boy is from Tim Holtz Paperdolls, washi tapes from my stash, papers from a 6x6 pack in my stash, some old music sheets and some stamps from some happy mail.
I even got to play with my Neo II Crayons and black Aquarellable pencil along with white and clear Gesso.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Cerise Gusseted Envelope set

For my last Design Team project for Ephemoire I used the adorable Cerise Gusseted Envelope set.

I sponged all the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I attached my rose tag by putting two holes in the flap and threading the black ribbon through to tie it on.
My Ticket is on 3 foam dots to hold the flap in place.
It's a nice gift tag come card holder, or love letter if that way inclined, just perfect for Valentine's Day!

I have enjoyed my time on the team but with work being hectic and shifts all over the place, I feel that I need to step back from design teams and create when I have the time and energy.
This doesn't mean you won't see me creating, just that I may do lots one week/month and not so many the next.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Steampunk 21

I had to make a male 21st Card and Tag so decided to go a bit Steampunk on the tag using a stamp from IndigoBlu that I got in their Monthly Create Kit #64.
This one is Mixed-media Special 2 - must keep an eye out for the 1st one!

On my tag, I used Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Inks to stamp the image and Black Soot for the sentiments. The sentiments did not come out quite right but I am leaving it or I will make it worse for sure! And let's face it, what 21 year old male is going to be that fussy?

My card I used one of my favourite Stampin Up stamps called Off the Grid and then added a cicle of music sheet with a tag and 2 and 1 offset to the side.
The Circle die and Tag die are by Uniquely Creative and the numbers I think are Stampin Up.

I am entering the Tag in the following Challenges:

Wanderlust 2021 - Week 4

Wanderlust 2021 and Week 4 is with Shay Michelle.

Wow, what a great class and new techniques learnt!

The class is taught with Blue water paint, but as I am trying to use the same colour combination through out the year, I went with a soft pink by Elena Art Pages.
I am so glad I did as it has turned out beautiful!

So as I don't have any paper bags, I bought two bottles of wine so I could use the wider paper bag they come in - LOL, I had to actually ask for the bag.
I also used just normal table salt and it still worked out ok.
I used some sequins from Uniquely Creative instead of glitter and white and black fluid paint in small plastic bottles instead of paint pens.

It gives slightly different effects, but it's all about the process and learning.
It's also great to use what you have instead of buying more just for one or two projects and adding to the already ever growing stash.

I used a Kaisercraft stencil and a double butterfly die from Indigo Blu.
Assorted washi tapes and papers from my stash.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Wanderlust 2021 - Week 3

Wanderlust 2021 Week 3 is with Kasia Avery and we are doing self portraits.

I did one of these last year with Lifebook 2020, and I have to say, I still struggled to put the paint over the drawing.....I think I drew it better this year, plus this year it's a bit easier as it's front on so that helped.
But let me tell you, those glasses do my head in!

It turned out a bit more cartoonist then it was meant to, but I LOVE it and wouldn't change a thing.
Yes, even those wonky glasses!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Baked you a cake

Time for another challenge over at Through The Craft Room Door Challenge.
As always, the theme is Anything Goes.

Our Generous Sponsor this week is Polkadoodles.

The prize is a £8 voucher for their store.

I coloured her with my copic markers and White Gel pen. Then fussy cut her out.
I wasn't sure what I was going to make with her until I saw my die cut I had previous cut from a new Bee Arty die.
So I went through my files and found a digital paper by Polkadoodles from the Winnie Special Moments file.
Then added a sticker from my planner stickers stash.
I love how it all came together.

Susie

The latest Progressive Challenge over at LeAnn's World 101 is with the gorgeous Susie image.

Isn't she just so sweet!
I coloured her with my Born Markers and her skin was with Copic Markers.
I used the Off the Grid rubber stamp by SU with black ink as a background.
My sentiment "I wish I was A Unicorn" is from a sticker pack in my stash.

Creations in Pink # 30

Time for our first Challenge of 2021 at Creations in Pink....remember it's anything goes, but has to be mainly Pink.

This month our Sponsor is The Paper Shelter.

I created with the Warm in the Winter set.

I coloured with copic markers and used my white gel pen for some highlights.
I then fussy cut the image out, as well as part of the background print in the file.
I die cut my Coffee Slider Card with my Jaded Blossom die (LOL, yes I use this die alot!) in pink card stock and assembled.
I adhered my image onto the cup sleeve and added a couple of sentiments from cut-aparts by Uniquely Creative in my stash.
Lastly I used my copic markers to colour up the heart mdf from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and added sparkle by using my clear Wink of Stella before I adhered onto my image background.

I know this year has not started too well for myself, but I truly hope that we all can find some time to relax and either craft, listen to music or just sit and read a good book to get our minds off this crazy world we are living in at the moment.  If you do get to craft, please join in with us.

Vintage Valentine

Getting ready for some Valentine Gift giving with Ephemoire and her VintageValentine Collage Sheet #2 file.

A bit of everything with this Collage sheet - I cut all the images out and then sponged with Vintage photo ink.

I found a heart shaped box of Raffaello chocolates so I adhered the image on with foam dots so it sits off the top.

A cute note card and envelope set with one of the small hearts on the back flap.

I used some old music sheet paper to create my rosette with another of the images. Adhered onto a white and gold straw with some ribbons on the back and another of the smaller hearts with a serrated circle of music paper to tie it all together.

Lastly, my last image with some more music paper and a large paper clip using the two large hearts that are glued together holding the clip, which in turn is holding my leftover ephemera.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Chibi Reindeer

It's Bugaboo's 11th Annual Birthday Bash and the Celebrations have started!

I'm a bit late to the party, but have made an ATC for Day Three, which is anything but a card.

I used Chibi Reindeer as she is just so cute!

Coloured with Elena Art Pages handmade "Memories" water paints and Faber-Castell water paints for the background.
My sentiment is from one of my Tim Holtz sticker packs.

Wanderlust 2021 - Week 2

Week 2 Lesson over at Wanderlust 2021 is A Garden of Wishes with Laly Mille - still with the theme of Reflection.

If you know me, you know that sitting and watching video lesson's is not my thing ... my mind wanders, and I generally flick through them just to get the gist of it....LOL, and yes, often then go on my own tangent. I am trying this year to not do that......well, week 2, and yes I started so well, but bam! off to Wonderland I went and this is my interpretation.

I am not a flower person at the best of times, and struggled with the idea of having a page of flowers.
So in my own little world, I stuck to my colours using Jane Davenport's Silky Skin Colorsticks.
I then added some white gesso with a small brayer and then my palette knife and looked at how I was progressing.
Now my thoughts at this stage was to use 2 of the leaves from the Stampin Up French Foliage stamp set with the colorsticks as well. I did this and thought I best add some with just plain black ink.
Now it was starting to look like something I could add a flower or two too.
Flicking through a few magazines I have, I came across this large flower bud in just the right colours for my page - Perfect!
I then looked at my sentiments in my stash and found the right one from my Michelle Grant Designs, Silent set.

For me, it reflects the change of season, or in the present moment, the changes occurring in our world. The one single bud in the middle is the hope that we become one and bloom again!
I really love how it ended up.

And I manged to get it finished before tomorrow's Week 3 lesson arrives in my inbox!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Vintage Girl Cover

This month's Image Challenge over at Gecko Galz is a gorgeous Vintage Girl.

I decided to make a make a cover for my mini Art Journal.
Rather than fussy cutting, I torn the image making my own edges and sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I torn some old packaging to the size I wanted and then separated to have the corrugated look.
I then added some white gesso paint and then stenciled some coloured texture paste over a stencil onto this.
While I was waiting for it to dry, I got out some red coloured lace and die cut a green leave swirl to add some colour.
Once all dry I stapled my lace as you don't see it, and adhered my die cut to my image and then adhered that onto my corrugated backing.
Lastly, I adhered this to my journal - all done.

Journey Through a Book

A New Year, and let's hope it is a better one for us all!
With that in mind, it's time for a new Challenge over at The Paper Funday Blog and this year we have TWO sponsors per month!

As we are every month, our theme is Anything Goes, and our twist this month if you want to play along with is to Use the colour Blue.

This month we are sponsored by Star Stampz and Karamfila.

I am using an image by Star Stampz called Journey Through a Book.

When I saw this image I was thinking of how many books may have been read during Isolation 2020!
I added her to my planner bills keeper divider.
I coloured her thought bubble with my Born Makers and her and her books with my copic markers.
I die cut a background using a new die from Uniquely Creative that I got in my Mystery Advent box.
The Isolation tab is from one of the Cut-a-parts by Uniquely Creative as well.
A bit of washi tape to cover the tab marks and adhered onto my divider.
Super sweet!

This actually the back side of my divider, here's the front.....I used some of last years monthly dividers and trimmed the sides, then glued the ends for my pocket and added a tab - my own custom divider.

Hope you find time to join in our Challenge.

On AIr

Time for another challenge over at Through The Craft Room Door Challenge.
As always, the theme is Anything Goes.

Our Generous Sponsor this week is The Paper Shelter

The prize is 3 Digital Images from the online store.

For our first Challenge of the year, I got to create with On Air.

I used the precoloured image this time round.
I did print her off and attempted to colour with copics, but let's just say that copics were not my friend on the day and it's been a rough few weeks. So precoloured it is.

Both my sentiments are from a Uniquely Creative Cut-apart.
I added some washi tape to ground my image.
My tag is the back of a Christmas Tag - lol, I thought the back worked much better than the original front. It is a large 6 inch tag though, so also good for a bookmark.

I hope you get a chance to play along with us.

Wanderlust 2021 - Week 1

I have started this year with a very heavy heart as we had to say goodbye to our beloved Bee Jay - a rescued Greyhound we adopted over 9 years ago.

I started Wanderlust last year for the first time and managed to get through the first 5 or so months and then life got in the way with all things Covid related and the problems it brought with it.
I had thought I would just start it over again this year and do it, but decided 2 weeks out that I would sign up for 2021 and start from fresh.
I will endeavor to do each week as it comes.
I will admit that last year I had signed up to 3 other year long courses and it was a bit full on, and no I didn't get any further with those either - so this year, just Wanderlust as I think it's the right one for me.

So, this month our Topic Theme is "Reflection" and our first class is with Kasia Avery.

My page is dedicated to our Bee Jay who was white and fawn, so my colours I have tried to reflect that.
I love how this page has turned out and think I will use these colours for this year.

I used a digital image and sentiment by Michelle Grant Designs (a wonderful Australian designer) from the file # 17 Covid, and printed the girl on tissue paper.
My colour mediums are acrylic paints by Mont Marte, Creative Pl (Aldi) and Derivan Student, Neo II crayons and Bic Kids pencils.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz ATC Challenge

It's been a while since I joined in the ATC Challenge over at Gecko Galz and with this month's page being Alice in Wonderland inspir...
