Butterfly Triple Point Card

I happened to stumble across a great Challenge blog called Butterfly Challenge.

I decided to give this one a go as I have never made a Triple Point Card before, and I am so happy I did. It is beautiful!

I used all of the wheel: Triple Point card / all 4 colours / Thankyou / Butterfly

The top paper is one of the digital papers by Gecko Galz - as is that gorgeous fairy and butterfly silhouette.
The inner paper is from a planner set I got from Planner Anonymous a few years back, and the sentiment one of the many many cut-a-parts I have from Uniquely Creative kits.

I am so glad I decided to use black cardstock as it really highlights how beautiful this paper is.
I love love love this card so I am a winner already! Twice!

So If you haven't seen this wonderful Challenge Blog before, hop on over and join in.

Vintage Valentine Card Challenge

Traci over at Ephemoire has a Vintage Valentine Card Challenge happening.
She has supplied two card fronts to use and then you do the rest.

Here are my two.

I had a bit of fun colouring parts of them.
The lampshade I printed twice and fussy cut to adhere with foam dots to give some dimension.

They were quite fun to do.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Steampunk Monthly Challenge

Nearly the end of the month, but still time to get your Gecko Galz Steampunk Monthly Challenge image and play along.

I was going to make a tag, but I had this leftover folded strip from a card I made using black cardstock, so figured it was perfect for a folded magnetic bookmark.

I printed off this months image and when I trimmed it, I left a white border around it. and adhered to front of cardstock.
Added some sticker sayings from my Art by Marlene Sticky Quotes book.
All that was left was to trim two strips off one of those pesky real estate calendar magnets they bombard was with every year! and then adhere them to the insides.

You can't lose this one! It's 5 7/8 x 3"
Absolutely perfect!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Christmas Card and Ornament

My Christmas Card and Ornament swap for the Gecko Galz Facebook Page group is still making it's way to Greece by all accounts.
I figure I may as well share them with you now before it's time for Christmas again!!!
Got to love the world postal systems at the moment, very frustrating to say the least!

Anyways, I loved making these using the Ho Ho Ho Collage set from Gecko Galz.
I printed Santa a few times and fussy cut to add depth and dimension to him.
Distress the edges of the image and sponged all edges with Vintage Photo distress ink.

My ornament is the same image printed smaller and 4 times, the folding in half and adhering together with some twine for a hanger and a bead hanging from the bottom.
I wanted an ornament that I could fold and was lightweight for posting overseas.
Now hoping it actually arrives!

I can see me making these again as it's such a classical vintage look.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Steampunk Kitty ATC Challenge

Now that my swap partner has her ATC's from me, I can show you the second set I made for the Gecko Galz Facebook page ATC Swap.

Again, I stayed with the backgrounds of the set and fussy cut my cats from the pdf page.
I have used the other 4 images for this set and printed off some quotes to add to each one.

I used some Finnabair paste to colour up my cogs which are from my stash.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Never More Designs Gothic Challenge

Have you checked out this month's Challenge Image over at Never More Designs Gothic Image Challenge?

It's a pretty cute image really.

I decided to make a card this month - I did have a tag in mind when I started, but I think it is a card sort of image.....

Anyways, I printed the image and die cut with my Jaded Blossom dies. I also die cut a black card stock matt for it.

My little saying is a sticker from Art By Marlene's Artsy Arabis Sticky Notes.

A few crystal gems and I really like how it turned out.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Christmas Challenge

For the Gecko Galz Christmas Challenge this month, I made a tag.....

I printed the image twice - once in black and white, the other in colour.
I then used a circle die and die cut the faces from the colour print and popped onto my black and white image with some foam dots to lift it off. I forget the name of this technique, but I think it is called spotlighting? I haven't done it years, and I mean like 5 or 6 years when I say that!
Once adhered onto my black tag, I then cut one of the tags from a Uniquely Creative Cut-A-part and popped that on with foam dots as well. I chose one of the blue ones to pick up the blue in the circle.

I really love how it turned out.

Can't wait to see what you all do with this month's image yourself's.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Steampunk Kitty ATC Challenge

Over on the Gecko Galz Facebook page we have the ATC Swap & Challenge happening.

I have created a set of 3 for the Challenge, and a different set of 3 for my swap partner.

They are so cute!

I stayed with the backgrounds of the set and fussy cut my cats from the pdf page.
I have used 4 of the images for this set.
I  printed off some quotes and added to each one.
I used some Finnabair paste to colour up my cog which is from my stash and I'm sorry I don't know where it is from as I got them in a craft swap last year sometime. I also used it around the edges of the ATC's to add some grungy steampunk feel to them. You can't tell from the photo's but it does actually shimmer on an angle.

I will show you the other 3 when my partner says she has got them.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Happy New Year 2022

Another year here and it has started worse than the year before! Never did we image that would happen right!

I am already looking forward to it ending, hopefully in a much better state then we have started it.

With all that in mind, I decided to use the Happy New Years Collage Sheet for my January 2022 Gecko Galz Design Team projects.

So a new bookmark and a wine tag.
Yes the bottle is empty....I have to say, the bottle is beautiful and is a momento that my daughter and I both bought one of to remember our first girls weekend away for her birthday - it just happened to be when the Toilet Paper saga of 2019 started, and yes a week later we home and into lockdown!
We did happen to get a bulk pack of toilet paper and that in itself was an experience too!

Anyway, not that you really needed to know all that.

Of course I used my Wine Tag die by Jaded Blossom with some black card and some Silver Glitter card.
Added my image and then a couple of black rhinestones to complete it.

My bookmark is again black card with the corners rounded.
Added a couple of Lace min doilies by PortaCraft that have a lovely gold fleck through them.
Then a purple and a green acrylic gemstone to pick up the purple and green in the image.
A piece of ribbon and lace through a punched hole and we are good.

I hope I have inspired you to go into your crafting area and create - or the very least to check your toilet paper stash!

You have until the 29th of January to get your entry into our Challenge.
I hope to see you there!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Valentine Gnome

Oh my goodness, how stinkin' cute is this guy!!!!!

My first go, but very happy with him.
I need to use more white wool next time so his beard is fuller, but still, he is just fine.

I love looking for different things to craft.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Pre Raphaelite Dreams

This month's Customer Challenge over at Gecko Galz is Pre Raphaelite Dreams.

I created a page in my Junk Journal using an image from Pre Raphaelite Photos Digital Collage.

I love working in my junk journal.
I actually made this 2 years ago so am now making an huge effort to finish it. I have one signature all created in and now this is my 6th project on this other side of it.

I used white gesso with a brayer on the page and then used two of Art by Marlene dies to cut out and use as stencils (love these from the 2021 Advent Calendar!) with distress inks.
Found a quote to use so typed up and printed off.
A few old book pages, another favourite, and then my image.
Perfect and just right for the Challenge.

Hope you can join us this month. I'd love to see your take on it.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Happy New Year 2022 !!!

Oh my, how is it a new year already!
This year has literally flown by - not our best year so maybe a good thing it went quick.

So with the Nursing Home I work at being in hard lockdown, I decided to make some bookmarks for the residents I have been visiting each day as their social point of contact.

I used the Toast to the New Year Collage Sheet by Gecko Galz which you can get as a freebie until Saturday night by spending $2 in the Etsy shop.

So I got my Jaded Blossom Wine Die out and black card stock and used that as my base. I then used the second part of the die to die cut my image.
I added a saying on top of the image before printing.
Oh my, don't upgrade to Windows 11 if you want your programs to work as you know them to. I can not get my Word program to function as it used to and had to do this in Photoshop (PSE).

Anyway, added a piece of ribbon and I was done.

Happy to say that the residents that got one loved them and it made all the behind the scene dramas worth it!

I hope you all have a wonderful New Year Day and please stay safe.
Wear your mask and hand hygiene. It's not that difficult and a small price to pay for your sanity by not having to endure lockdown conditions.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!
