Creative Warriors Inspiration #2

Time for my next project to inspire you, which is a Mash Up of using a girl from Gracie Grant's Accept Pack and my Owl from Annette Gearside's Wisdom Pack.

I started by using one of the mop up pages in my art journal to get me going as it already had red and black acrylic paints on it.
I added some music sheet strips for a bit of collage and some white gesso to blend it all together.
I then added some pink/peach acrylic paint to soften it a little.
At this stage, I coloured my owl with my pencils and fussy cut her out along with my girl.
Now they are cut, I place them on page to see where I would like them and where I needed to add some stenciling. I used my Dark Hearts stencil with black acrylic paint first, and then That Way stencil to add the dots as well.
Again, placing my owl and girl down, I decided I needed something else, so grabbed my script stamp and stamped that in a few places. I used the Tyre marks from Making Tracks stamp set to mainly ground my girl and stamped in a few other spots as well.
Now I have it pretty much how I wanted it, so I adhered my Owl and girl on the page.

My wording, I hand wrote in Black on some card and then went over it with white and adhered.

Well, I hope I have inspired you to look at your packs a little but differently.

Don't forget to share with us any of your projects over on the Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook group, we'd love to see them.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Dapper Gentlemen

Are you ready for a new month's Challenge over at Arty Divas Challenge Blog.

This month's theme as always is "Anything Goes", doesn't get any easier than that does it!

This month we are playing with Dapper Gentlemen Set 1 and Coffee Paper Set 1 by our resident sponsor Lilli Rain Designs.

I decided to make a 2 Pocket Holder for my Journal.
I used 2 of the Dapper Men and added a cardstock backing to make them sturdy. They are blank on the back so journaling can be added.
My Holder I used one of the coffee papers and printed out A4 size and then trimmed to 10 x 6 1/2 inches. I then set about folding, cutting and assembling.
I added two of the Coffee Chip chipboard by CAS-ual Friday Stamps after I used my Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain distress inks on them.

I am very happy with the end result.

Now you have seen what I have done, it's your turn! I look forward to seeing your entry in our Challenges.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Beautiful

Have you got this month's image for our Challenge over on Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook Group yet?
You can buy this month's image here for $1.50, or you will get it free with any purchase.

I created a monochromatic art journal page with a touch of gold flakes.

I printed her onto coffee stained paper and then used distress inks and a stencil around the border.
Before I adhered the page onto my art journal page, I grabbed some acrylic paints and another 2 stencils for the background, with a little white gel pen for highlights (lol, you barely see this stencil).
When I adhered her onto my page, I thought a few spots of gold flakes would just set her off nicely.

Don't be shy, if you create with any of the images from Michelle Grant Designs, we would love to see them, so please share.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Soak up the Sun

This month's Sparkles Monthly Challenges #155 is At the Beach.

This month I made a couple of bookmarks for a change.

I have used two images and sayings from my Gecko Galz files Mermaid Dream World Kit Club August 2022 and Summer Time Sentiments.
The sayings I printed onto tissue paper so they are almost translucent.
Once I had them adhered onto my card stock I laminated them to make them sturdy.
Finished off with an eyelet and some twines.

I look forward to seeing your take on the theme.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Myth - Legend?

Have you entered this month's Customer Challenge over at Gecko Galz yet?
The theme is Myths and Legends.

I have to say I found the theme this month to be a hard one to come up with a project for.
In the end, after looking through the majority of my Gecko Galz files, I came up with these two images from the Nevermore Digital Stamp Set to create a double layout in my altered book journal.

I grabbed out the old Shakespeare Book again and tore out 2 pages and then tore them a bit to fit. I did overlap my first page to help brace the spine. Then I grabbed my Black Soot distress ink and sponged around the edges and smooched it over the pages as well as my two images. Grabbing my water mister bottle, I splashed water over the pages and images for the ink to react. On my pages only, I then used my little puffer to move the ink around the pages. Once all dry, I adhered my images and all done.

I love how it came out, and have to say that it is not how it was going to be. I had meant to print the images on tissue paper, but some how the second page of other stuff I was printing off at the same time, printed on the tissue and these ones on the normal copy paper. I figured I would make it work rather then reprint. So a happy accident after all!

I hope I have inspired you, and now it's your turn to show me what you can do this month - you have until the 29th to get your entry blogged and onto the blog page. Why not try an image from the Newsletter freebies as well.
It really is worth the try to have some fun and maybe win $25 to spend in the store along your way!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creative Warriors Inspiration #1

I am super excited and honored to now be a part of Michelle Grant's Creative Warriors Inspiration Team for Term 2.

I will be posting my Inspirational projects on the 8th and 24th of the month, so I will be able to get into a nice pattern of creating, or so the plan goes right!

For my very first post I am using some New Release Packs (July) by Michelle Grant and Karen Yates.
I decided to use Michelle's Expand Warriors Wallpaper and make a card.

I distressed the edges of the image and sponged the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink. I adhered this to a red card matt, again sponging the edges with distress ink.
I got my BIC Intensity pencils out and added a pop of red on the 2 hearts and her dress.
Lastly, I inked up a Congratulations stamp and added the sentiment.

I also covered a notebook for my daughter to use as a Brain Dump book.

I used another of the images from Michelle's Expand Warriors Wallpaper pack, along with words from Karen Yates Little Word Bits #3. My background is from Michelle's Pattern #1 Art Image pack which I printed onto tissue paper and adhered to the cover.
I then grabbed one of my Grunge Stencils and used some white acrylic paint and sponge it on top.
I used my BIC Intensity pencils again and added my words. I sponged the edges of the image and my cover with Black Soot distress ink. Adhered the image and all done.
(As a side note: my daughter loves it.)

Well, I hope I have inspired you and shown you that there is more than one way to use your digital files and mixed media. I can't wait to see where my art skills progress to and take you along on the journey with me.

Don't forget to share with us any of your projects over on the Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook group, we'd love to see them.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Smile

This month for Gecko Galz, I have covered a notebook and made a bookmark for my project to inspire you.

I used a 12 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper from my stash to cover my notebook and the left over piece to use as my bookmark.

I have used one of the Budda's from Beautiful Budda for my notebook, along with an intricate sizzix die to give it another dimension. My words are from a cut-apart from Uniquely Creative.

I must admit that my bookmark did not need a lot to it, so I added the "smile" for the Poliroid ATC Set along with an eyelet and blue thread and it's done.

I hope you like them and are inspired to join in on one of our many challenges this month.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

This is Halloween Challenge

A new month, so a new challenge starting over at This is Halloween.

This is Halloween is a Halloween and/or Gothic themed Monthly Challenge.
So both themes are accepted all year round when stated!

This month I used Cute Vintage Halloween Mini Scrapbook Kit and French Ephemera Sheet 1 by Lilli Rain Designs for my Dex card.

After fussy cutting the ephemera, I then die cut my dex card using the Pumpkin paper.
I placed the ephemera on my dex card until I worked out where I would put them. Next I adhered the bingo card and girl onto the dex card.
I used some bakers twine from my stash and wrapped around the card and tied off.
I popped my moon and cat on by foam dots so they pop off the card.

Hope you get a chance to play along with us - enter here.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!
