Latch Fold Card

Here's my card for Butterfly Challenge #168

I had to look up the instructions on the challenge site to create this on.

I believe I used all of the wheel: Latch Fold Card / all 4 colours / Butterfly/ Lace.

How striking is that! I love it!

I used a blue card stock from my stash as my base.
I then sized and printed off a few pieces of my chosen patterned paper. This paper is a digital paper from the Butterfly Garden Digital Craft Kit by Gecko Galz.
Inside the card I adhered a pale pink lace butterfly from my stash.
The heart that hold my butterfly on the front flap, and resized to act as my clasp, is from Autumn Calling Craft Kit by Gecko Galz, and the butterfly from the first kit as my paper.
How versatile are these kits!
My "hello" in pale pink card is a Stampin Up die.

I enjoy creating these different cards as it helps challenge me and gets me really thinking of how to incorporate all elements of the challenge.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Victorian Elegance Dex Cards

I am sharing the Dex Cards I made for a swap last month.
I thought I had shared them already but it would appear not.

The swap was for 2 Dex Cards and they had to be decorated on both sides.

I really enjoyed making these.
All the Dex Cards themselves I die cut using some papers from my stash by Bee Arty.
I did add a couple of words from my stash along with the daisy flowers and ribbon.

I really enjoyed putting these together and having the one kit to make it easy to do.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gecko Galz Steampunk Monthly Challenge

I finished off this Journal Cover with the image for the Gecko Galz Steampunk Monthly Challenge this month.

Like last months' Journal cover I created for this challenge, I again used my piano roll paper, but this time I stitched around the edges and sewed in a signature ready to play with.

I added some brass corner bits and then got out some chipboard cogs to play with.
I used my Finnabair waxes and got them looking more steampunk like. With the excess wax on my brush, I flicked along the sides of my image and then adhered it down. Once I had my placement of the cogs where I liked them, I then adhered them down too.

It is only a thin journal but I really like how it turned out and hope you get a chance to play along with us this month as well.

I am entering my Journal in the following challenges as well:

Nautical Dreams

I decided that since I had caught up on my swaps and DT projects for the month, I would look through my stash and use something I haven't worked with before.

I made 2 cards using Nautical Dreams Set 1 and Set 2 by Lilli Rain Designs.

Apart from the card base, I only added a few ephemera stickers from my stash, lol, yes I had not used them from their packet either!

I love when you put them side by side they appear to be talking to one another!

I am entering my first card in the following Challenges:

Gecko Galz Christmas Challenge

For the Gecko Galz Christmas Challenge this month, I made a card to add to my stash.

I found this patterned paper by KaiserCraft in my stash called "December 25th Collection" and thought it was just right for this month's image.
I must have liked it a few years back when I bought it as I have 3 sheets of it!
I fussy cut around the monthly image and then used Vintage Photo distress ink to sponge around my paper, image and card base.

Once I adhered it all together, I then added a sentiment from one of the Uniquely Creative cut-a-parts in my stash.

I went for a non Christmas sentiment, but the way our year is going, it just may be the right one to use.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Art not War

Michelle Grant Designs has some new mini kits designed by Lorri Lennox and I thought this girl and saying would be good for another Ukraine page.

This time in my Art By Marlene Mini Art Journal that came in the 2021 Advent Calendar Pack.
The girl and image are from TweetHeart and I can see me playing with these a lot more.
I used Art by Marlene acrylic paints for my background and coloured the girl with my distress inks.

I pray the war ends soon and that Ukraine can rebuild!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Sunflowers for Ukraine

Gecko Galz wanted to do something to help the people of Ukraine and the good work that Samaritan's Purse does was the perfect organization to help, here is more about them:

Samaritan's Purse stands ready to respond at a moment’s notice whenever and wherever disaster strikes. We specialize in meeting critical needs for victims of conflict, disaster, famine, and epidemics throughout the world, often working through ministry partners on the ground. We provide food, water, shelter, medicine, and other assistance.

Every dollar (100%)  raised on the sale of this Sunflowers for Ukraine set will be donated to Samaritan's Purse.

Here is a card I made with one of the images....it's a small price for all of us, but a huge help for those suffering at the hands of one man! I can not even begin to image the hell the people of Ukraine are having to endure. I pray for all people in and from Ukraine and their families.

I would love to see your makes with this beautiful and worthy set.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Water Colour Bunny

Did you see the new Challenge over on the Gecko Galz Blog?

Starting this month, we have the Monthly Stamp Challenge.
Print off the image supplied and then grab the medium of your choice - pencils, markers, paints, etc, and colour and then create your project to enter.

I coloured this cute bunny with my Gansai Tamsi Watercolor Paints.
My bunny and Strawberry's are actually done with my Elena Arts handmade paints and that gives them a lovely shimmer. (I know you can't tell)
Before I stuck him in my junk journal, I used some of my gelato's on the background, some patterned paper strips and then some distress paints with a fun stencil.
Lastly I added some highlights with white gel pen on the leaves, strawberries and bunny after it was suggested to make them pop.
Love him - a great mixed media page.

Hope you like him and have time to join in with us.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Gypsy Soul

This month I decorated the front of a small notebook for my March Gecko Galz Design Team project.

I used an image from the January 2022 Kit Club file called Pre Raphaelite Art.
Before I printed the image, I added "Gypsy Soul" to keep the cover relatively flat.
Then it was just a matter of looking through my stash and finding some background paper and ribbon and then adhering onto the front.
I then added some pearl type dots to add some grounding using the Perlen-Pen #802.

Isn't she beautiful!
I am going to use this as a Junk Journal type book for small projects in the future.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Birds + Bees

This month's Customer Challenge over at Gecko Galz is Birds + Bees.

I created 2 cards for the Bees using the 2 of the sayings from Spring Time Sentiments.

I used my Jaded Blossom Stitched and Scallop Hexagon Dies to die cut my bases and card matts.
My bee is coloured using my Uniquely Creative Uniqolour Water Markers.
To prop up my easel, I used a couple of Vintage style brads from my stash with a circle die cut of glitter paper and clear domes on top.

This card is so simple but very stylish.
I used a SU embossing folder from my stash and then spellbinder dies to die cut my matts.
Again, the beehive is coloured using Uniquely Creative Uniqolour Water Markers.
I popped both layers up on foam dots to give the card some dimension.

And now for the Birds of the Challenge.....I did a Scrapbook page layout.

I started off by making an ATC using the owl image from the new Little Birds Collage set (page 2) and fussy cutting and then adhering to one of the backgrounds from the Tin Roof ATC Sheet.
I couldn't decide where to go from here, so looked around and found this great 12 x 12 page and saying  that goes well with my ATC. You'd be surprised with what you can find in my craft room, LOL, I know I am when I go on the hunt in it.

Ok, so now it's your turn to show me what you can do this month - you have until the 29th to get your entry blogged and onto the blog page.
It really is worth the try to have some fun and maybe win $25 to spend in the store along your way!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Springtime Magic

I enjoyed making my Book Binding Card yesterday so much I decided to make one just for me and my stash.

I used an image from the new Springtime Magic Jewel It Collage set by Gecko Galz.
I distressed around the edges and then adhered to the gold doily.
A strip of fabulous ribbon from my stash on the book binding side to add some more shine.
I wrote with a white gel pen, not the neatest writing but it's only for me so it's ok.
That really is a stunning image.

I hope you get a chance to craft this month and join in on some of our challenges!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Conjurer of Dreams Inspiration # 4

My inspiration projects for Conjurer of Dreams this month is using Grumpy Santa on Vacay  for my first Junk Journal page and card, and then ...
