Creative Warriors Inspiration #4

Time for my next project to inspire you, which is using the New Release Mini Pack Girl Power by Michelle Grant.

I used another mop up page in my journal and decided to use both pages this time.
I toned the colours done by adding a white gesso wash over them.
I used some Uniquely Creative stamps with my black ink and stamped around the pages.
I used my Party Lights stencil by Bee Arty with some black acrylic paint to add some interest and grounding for my girls to my pages.
I fussy cut two of the girls from Michelle's pack and placed them on pages where I thought I would like them, as well as some of the words from the pack as well. Once I had them how I wanted them, I decided I needed something in the middle of the page to bring it all to one paint.
I got my Wings & Things #1 Add On Pack and used one of the butterflies I had printed on tissue paper.
I then removed them all and laid down some white Gesso before adhering my pieces back down.
Lastly I used my Inktense pencils and normal pencils to add colour to my girls.

Well, I hope I have inspired you as I know I inspired myself!

Don't forget to share with us any of your projects over on the Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook group, we'd love to see them.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Pretty as a Picture

Are you ready for a new month's Challenge over at Arty Divas Challenge Blog.

This month's theme as always is "Anything Goes", doesn't get any easier than that does it!

This month we are playing with Pretty as a Picture, and Pink Ephemera Sheet 1 by our resident sponsor Lilli Rain Designs.

I decided this month I was going to create a journal page in my junk journal.
I printed my images and sponged the edges with Walnut Stain distress ink.
I then grabbed my Watermark Stamp set by Bee Arty and used both Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo distress inks to stamp them on my journal page.
I then placed my images where I wanted them and stamped them as well.
I then adhered them onto my page.
Lastly, I grabbed some labels I have from a Coffee Adamo Prints file in my stash and used two of them.

Now you have seen what I have done, it's your turn! I look forward to seeing your entry in our Challenges.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

It's all about you!

This month's Sparkles Monthly Challenges #156 is Mushroom's and other Fungi.

This month I made an adorable Gift Tag!

Goodness, how stinkin' cute is that cup with the Mushroom in it!
I was lucky enough to grab this year's 2022 Daphne's Diary on clearance at my Newsagent's and knew this was just perfect for this month's challenge. I bought it purely to cut up as it has sooo many great images in it that I can use.
I picked a black tag from my stash to make a gift tag with.
I fussy cut my image and then set it aside to create my background on my tag.
I decided to use my Rose Revival stencil (for the first time) by Colour Blast with some Distress Oxide inks. I can't tell you how beautiful this turned out in real life, and why have I not used it before!
I adhered my cup and then also used one of my sayings from a Uniquely Creative cut-apart in my stash.

I look forward to seeing your take on the theme.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Snarcasm

Here's a great art pack that's not for the feint hearted.

It's a new release from Michelle Grant Design called Snarcasm and is by Elisa Ablett and Tanya Froud.

I had another play with my Inktense pencils as well. Getting the hang of them now I think.
I used a coupe of stencils on top of the backgrounds in the pack.
I need a lot more work on my backgrounds, but I won't improve if I don't continue!
This reminded me of a work Zoom meeting a few weeks back......lucky I had my mask on cause I used a few of those words.

Anyway, I would love to see what you do with the pack.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

RIP Ma'am

History making with the loss of our Queen this week.
Such sad sad news to wake up and learn our Queen, Head of State, had passed.

My Porch Prints gave us a beautiful file in memory of the Queen, and I felt with Michelle Grant's Affinity Image for this months challenge, was a perfect match.

For the opposite page, I used one of Karen Yates Rainbow Lyrical Wallpapers.
After tearing the edges and adhering down, I just had to add an appropriate stamp saying.
Love this saying that is in one of my Jaded Blossom sets.

It will be very interesting to see how the future pans out, not just for the Royal family, but for us in the Commonwealth too.

RIP Ma'am, thank you for your dedicated Service.
You will be sorely missed. xoxo

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

A Stitch in Time

Have you entered this month's Customer Challenge over at Gecko Galz yet?
The theme is A Stitch in Time.

This month I made a Memory Dex card.

Firstly I die cut my Dex card with my Heidi Swapp die.
I then adhered a piece of Dress Pattern paper on top of my Dex Card.
I used a collage image and three mannequins from Gecko Galz Crazy Manniquins file.
I distressed the edges of my collage image and sponged with Black Soot distress ink.
I then adhered this along with the three mannequins onto my Dex Card.
Lastly, I adhered a metal sewing machine hanging embellishment to finish it off.

I hope I have inspired you, and now it's your turn to show me what you can do this month - you have until the 29th to get your entry blogged and onto the blog page. Why not try an image from the Newsletter freebies as well.
It really is worth the try to have some fun and maybe win $25 to spend in the store along your way!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Creative Warriors Inspiration #3

Time for my next project to inspire you, which is a Mash Up of  Michelle Grant's Art Image Breathe and Mystic packs.

I have used the man and saying "It's ok if the only thing you did today was Breathe." from Michelle's Breathe pack, along with one of the girls from her Mystic pack.
I decided to use the opposite journal page to my last mash up posting which again is a mop up page.
I felt that the page left as is really resonated with the saying - It's ok if nothing got done/finished, as long as I am still breathing.
I printed off and fussy cut the images and then adhered to my page and put some clear gesso over the top so I could add some colour with my pencils.
The saying I printed on tissue paper and used a white paint pen to go over the back of the words before I adhered so they stood out a bit more.

This page helped my mental health as when I did it, I was feeling very sad over the passing of my favourite NRL Coach taking his own life, as well as the sudden death of one of my favourite residents. Sometimes it is hard to explain, but good to have an outlet to help your mind into the right place.

Well, I hope I have inspired you to look at your packs a little but differently.

Don't forget to share with us any of your projects over on the Michelle's Creative Warriors Facebook group, we'd love to see them.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

With Patience, things get better.

This month I created two cards for my project to inspire you, using the Beautiful Buddas file by Gecko Galz again. I really love these images.

I have used my new Sizzix 3D Hearts embossing folder for my backgrounds. It gives the cards such beautiful texture to them.
I also die cut a heart and sponged the edges of it and my images with Vintage Photo distress ink.
My sentiments are from Art by Marlene's Artsy Arabia Sticky Quotes book.

I hope you like them and are inspired to join in on one of our many challenges this month.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

This is Halloween Challenge

A new month, so a new challenge starting over at This is Halloween.

This is Halloween is a Halloween and/or Gothic themed Monthly Challenge.
So both themes are accepted all year round!

This month I made two cards.

I grabbed a couple of my embossing folders out, these two are by Sizzix.
Cut some card stock slightly smaller than my card front, still in black and put through my Big Shot to get a great card front.
I used some ephemera by Ephemoire and some by Tim Holtz.
I used my Black Soot distress ink and sponged the edges of  images and adhered onto my embossed card with glue and foam dots.
I then adhered this onto my card front.

I love the effect of the embossing for my backgrounds.

I hope you get a chance to play along with us - enter here.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!
