Gecko Galz Steampunk Monthly Challenge

This month's Challenge Image over at Gecko Galz Steampunk Monthly Challenge is sooooo beautiful! A Steampunk Crow!

I love this image!
I wasn't sure what to create so left it for a few days and then decided a fun tag / bookmark was the road to travel.

I decided that I wanted to layer the wing to enhance the cogs ..... yes 6 layers in total!

I printed the image with the saying on it as one layer.
The saying is from Gecko Galz Words in Dark Collage Set.
I sponged the edges with Distress Ink and then set about fussy cutting my wing bits.
I used foam squares to mount them and then my Gold Wink of Stella Brush pen to add some highlights and shimmer when tilted.
Lastly I grabbed some black card stock and made my tag.
Adhered image and then some ribbon and lace from my stash to complete.

I am also entering the following Challenges:

Be Free

Here is my Day 3 Challenge for Hillbilly Scrappin' Virtual Retreat I had last weekend.

I love how it turned out in my junk journal.
3 Colours of background are Black, White with my choice of Rose Madder.
Then some brown paper and magazine collage on top.
Next came the lines and square with handrawn doodling. I used fluid black and white acrylic ink I poured into a fine tip bottle.
Lastly was the focal point being words. I chose be free.

I did manage to do a couple of the class layouts during the 3 days. Was a bit hard as I had work as well, but still fun and I learnt alot.

Merry Christmas Hornbag

So Day 2 Challenge at Hillbilly Scrappin' Virtual Retreat saw me able to use my new JLB Creative pdf's for Decembers Subscription......

Background is Gelatos - Iced Coffee, Iced Chai and Banana.
White Gesso with stencil I got in a Uniquely Creative Advent Kit (I think it was 2019's).
Script is from a Kaisercraft stamp with Jet Black Archival Ink.
Black and White rice paper scraps are printed with Michelle Grant Designs file.
Prompt of focal being Christmas-y, well when I saw what James had created as bonus sheet, I just had to print it and fussy cut Cath and Kim for my layout.

It was only a three day retreat, so I have one more to show you.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Holly and Ivy

Another new month - my goodness, December already!!!!!!

So this month our Customer Challenge is Holly and Ivy.

Here is my project I made using the Holly and Ivy Collage Sheet.

I made a double pocket folder to hold gift card for Christmas or of course ephemera for safe keeping!

I lined a piece of patterned paper with a book page and then glued my inside pocket tab down and then folded over and glued my top packet down.
Edged sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink (of course!).
I punched out two circles and used a brad for my closure with some red twine.
My sentiments are from a Uniquely Creative Cut-apart sheet.
And of course extra bling from some gold glitter washi tape.

I really love how this turned out so I am keeping her this time.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Beautiful Christmas Tag

As I mentioned yesterday, I am honored to be on the 2022 Gecko Galz Design Team.

So many talented ladies in the team, I hope I can inspire a few of you with my creations as well.

Today I want to share with you my tag for the the 25 Tags of Christmas Event.

I am using an image from the “Beautiful Christmas” collage sheet to create this tag.

How beautiful is that image of the cat looking up at Santa across the night sky! I printed the image on 160 GSM White premium digital paper.

Using one of my many Tag dies, I die cut a tag from black texture card stock. I know you can't tell by the picture, but you can in real life. I did also run the die size down over my image to give some stitching on it as well. I wasn't too concerned that it doesn't match fully.

I then adhered my image onto the tag using liquid glue.

Then using a glue stick, I ran it around the edges of my tag, not fully, but in places and then rubbed some gold flakes over to adhere and give a more vintage grungy look to it.

I then adhered a piece of cream lace and trimmed to fit my tag.

Lastly, a piece of black lace through the eyelet and it's ready to put on a gift.

And then I made a simple gift tag using another of the images from the same sheet.

I hope have inspired you to make some cards or tags for Christmas - there is always someone you forget to send one to!

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Christmas Gnomes

Hello and welcome to my blog......I am honored to be on the 2022 Gecko Galz Design Team. So many talented ladies in the team, I hope I can inspire a few of you with my creations as well.

I have two projects to share today with it being my day to share my project, as well as my tag for the the 25 Tags of Christmas Event.

So first I will show you my projects for December that I created.

Ekkkk how stinkin' cute are these Gnomes!
They are from the new Christmas Gnome Stamps set.

I coloured up two images using my distress inks and my neon gel pens for the baubles and lights - I had so much fun that I decided to just use the neon gel pens with 2 glitter gel pens on the third Gnome that I also made into a tag.

The sentiments on my tags are from Jaded Blossom's Bah Humbug and Hero Arts CM405 - lol, it was a gift and does not have a title only that CM #.

I wanted to show you an ornament I made as well for the Card and Ornament swap we are doing.
I originally made this to send to my partner and took a photo, as you do, then placed it with others things I had made. When I got up in the morning, I wondered what was laying in the middle of my craft room floor - yes, my dog decided to chew it up overnight! Thankfully it was all she decided to destroy!
I have made a different ornament for my partner and sent off which I will show you once it arrives at it's overseas destination
.

I used one of the images from the HO HO HO collage sheet.
It turned out wonderful, or so I thought!

I hope have inspired you to make some cards or tags for Christmas - there is always someone you forget to send one to!

Come back later today and see my Tag for the 25 days of Christmas.

Until next time, keep chasing white unicorns!

Pre Raphaelite Art Journal Page

I am currently attending the Hillbilly Scrappin' Virtual Retreat and Day 1's Challenge was:

1. Background using warm colours
2. Add collage with book pages.
3. Add marks of just triangles.
4. Add a picture or embellishment for focal point.

I enjoyed this very much.
My girl is from the Gecko Galz Pre Raphaelite Photos Digital Collage Set and the saying is from their Pre Raphaelite Junk Journal Digital Kit .
I used red, yellow and orange acrylic paints with a freebie stencil by Letter It and black acrylic paint.
I added some white gesso with a brayer to tone it down a bit.
Such a fun page!
